Located on a small canal that leads directly into Tichigan Lake, this house is on the water and only 350 feet from wide open lake. Tichigan Lake and the Fox River Impoundment combine for over 1,100 acres of navigable waterway that is perfect for waterskiing, wake boarding, fishing, and swimming in summer and ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing in winter. Just a short paddle from the house is a swimmable lake with depths greater than eight feet and depths up to 63 feet in the middle of the lake. By walking less than 100 steps away from the house you can find dining and often live entertainment at The Watering Hole Bar and Grill. This cottage is ideal for 4 people, could sleep 5 or 6 in total, if they fit on the small pull out sofa featured in the photos. Relax by a fire in the private, fenced-in yard, or enjoy the lower level entertainment area where family and friends can play games or just relax and watch a movie. Located just 3.5 miles from the nearest grocery store and less than 4 miles to downtown Waterford, you can be away from it all but close to creature comforts. The canal is NOT ideal if you have a pontoon boat that is 8.5' wide or greater or 18 foot or larger ski boats as the canal is restricted by a narrow bridge and the canal itself is only 20 feet wide. It IS ideal for fishing boats, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, or paddle boards. Included with your stay is free unlimited use of two kayaks and one canoe, or bring your own fishing boat and tie up to the dock. If you just want to relax and look at the water then the deck overlooking the canal and the lake may be more your style. Bring your brats, burgers or hot dogs and grill out on the deck on the Weber propane grill. The canal may appear clean and shallow, but guests do catch perch, bass, catfish, and even northern pike right off the dock. Paddling through the tunnel allows for great underwater viewing of whatever happens to be swimming through! We provide two kayaks and a canoe for our guests to enjoy. Inside you will find entertainment for the kids and adults alike with a foosball table, air hockey table, and Pac-Man arcade game with eleven other 1980s classic video games. A second TV is located in the lower level game room so kids can watch what they want downstairs while the adults unwind upstairs. I had such a great time! One of my favorites was using the Kayak - you can easily explore the canal (attached to the yard) and access the big lake which is just few short rows away. There is a nice island and slow no wake that made for minimal waves and boat traffic. The house is clean, bed was comfortable and we loved playing the arcade-like PacMan and foosball! The host was easy to work with and the neighborhood was nice and quiet - which my dog enjoyed. The bathtub had hair everywhere, the bathroom sink appeared as though it was not cleaned, unflushed human waste in the toilet, and there was garbage in the kitchen that was not disposed of before our arrival. We paid 160 in cleaning fee so we had much higher expectations. Aside from the cleanliness issue, Grant was an excellent host. Very hospitable and a great communicator. ##### Emily L. My daughter is allergic to tobacco smell and smoke, and the house had a very very strong cigarette smoke smell upon entering, which was unacceptable for us. Not the kind of smell that would eventually go away if you aired out the house, but the type where it seemed to have permeated everything in the home, and had heavy smokers living there for years. Communication with the host was good and he was very responsive and processed the refund the next day. I am sure it will be the right house for others, but it just wasn't for us. ##### Yana G. We needed to visit Waterford to see my daughter and was looking for a comfortable place to stay with my family. This house is not large but has ample space inside with three bedrooms. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The owner was very communicative and kind, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Although the house isn't directly on the lake, the canal provided easy access for kayaking and canoeing, which was a fantastic bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the area and appreciated the convenience of having these watercraft available. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. ##### Matt M. Fishing was so fun and caught so many right off the dock. The house was modern and perfect for our family of 4 + 2 mini dachsunds. Nearby restaurants had great food, and we were able to grill an amazing meal at the cottage with dinner on the patio. The fire pit was a big hit with our little ones for storytelling and s’more making, along with the game area in the basement. Grant was an amazing host and communicated effectively and promptly. The house had plenty of room for our group and had all the household items needed for a positive stay.
