Very good location not far from the White House

Posted 14-Sep-2016
this hotel was decorated with a lot of high design flourishes. It's been open for a few years now and it doesn't seem to be aging really well. The lobby and other public spaces of the hotel seem a bit tired. Also, the front desk staff were not sharp. I would ask for a recommendation for a local service business and they would forget to call me back to tell me about it. When I asked them to replace the iron in my room which was broken it never came. I had to go to ask again for another time before they produced one Parking is extremely expensive at this hotel

Big rooms

Posted 3-Sep-2016
We loved the size of the room. We had the king with bunk beds. Our son had his own room and we loved the suite feel of the room. The lobby is small and other "big hotel amenities" but overall we liked the hotel. Good price for a suite room and good central location for all the places we wanted to visit. Staff friendly and helpful.

Comfortable stay

Posted 2-Sep-2016
The hotel is centrally located. I've stayed there several times and the experience is consistently good. I really love Kimptons. The only reason I didn't rate the hotel higher is because of the decor. Kimptons are known for their funky eclectic look and the Rouge doesn't disappoint. But it's starting to look a little old and worn out. Hopefully Kimpton will give this gem some freshening up because it is a really nice place to stay.

BUGS IN MY ROOM

Posted 25-Aug-2016
CHECKED IN AND CHECKED OUT WITHOUT 5 MIN. THERE WERE 2 BUGS IN MY ROOM, THE DECOR IS DISGUSTING, VERY UNWELCOMING. ONCE I TOLD THE STAFF THERE WERE TWO BUGS IN MY ROOM AND I WAS CHECKING OUT IMMEDIATELY, ALL THEY SAID WAS " OK, U WILL NOT BE CHARGED". THEY WERE UNAPOLOGETIC AND NOT SHOCKED, AS IF THIS HAPPENED BEFORE. NEVER AGAIN!

A great hotel in a great part of town.

Posted 20-Aug-2016
5th visit to this great pet friendly hotel (with non pet rooms - so you'd never know). Rooms are great size with crisp comfortable sheets and beds. What makes this a hotel of choice apart from staff, like Tina (who was formally head of house keeping and now on the front desk), is the location. Not only can you step out and turn left and literally see the White House but if you turn right and walk two blocks your in a great part of town where the locals live, shop and eat. Alongside whole foods and other staple stores there are countless great restaurants. So if your looking to feel like a local in DC and have a hassle free stay in an easy non touristy part of town, look no further.

Just OK

Posted 1-Aug-2016
Pros: Room size
Cons: Customer service and cooling of the common areas.
Location: Location is OK.
Upon checking in I was not greeted pleasantly and felt like I was bothering Rahm who was on duty. First impressions mean a lot and I was disappointed. There wasn't much air conditioning in the common areas- hallways, sitting area, bar, or elevators. The breakfasts were miserable. Common areas were dark and not well lit. The room sized were very good. But views of an alley were not pleasing. All in all with the amount of choices for hotels in the area I would not recommend this property- primarily due to very poor hospitality.

Right price, right location, great guest service

Posted 31-Jul-2016
Location: Easy walk to the Mall and museums, good restaurants nearby.
A fun hotel with sparkle and character, great guest service, a fun mix of clientele, and unique perks. Would stay there again for any next reason to be in DC.

Noisy !

Posted 31-Jul-2016
Noisy room. Air conditioning on the roof? Outside construction ? Don't know but when you pay more than $300 a night you expect to have a quiet sleep for 6-hours!

I was pleased with the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious which was nice because I was traveling with my family.
