"Great location, Friendly staff!"
We were one of the last guests before their three-month rehab. Despite closing soon, the hotel was still in great condition. The staff upgraded us to a much larger room when our original room wasn't cleaned to their standard. Service was perfect. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is right in the middle of Old Town - no rental car required! You are within walking distance to all the sights and shops.

"Classy charming boutique hotel with character"
I spent my birthday here. Beautiful charming hotel with lots of character. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and pier. Complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres nightly. Clean and classy decor. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Quiet with lots of space and nice courtyard.

"Lovely Hotel in a Great Location "
My daughter and I stayed for 1 night as she danced in the Cherry Blossom Festival. This was our 3rd year in a row attending this event but the first time staying in this hotel. The front desk staff was kind and considerate. The valet parking attendant was efficient and kind (although $42 for 1 night with a room at this price seemed a bit excessive). Unfortunately, the room was not as clean as I would have thought given the 4.5 Star Rating...which is how I based much of my decision when booking the hotel. They did allow for late check out which was WONDERFUL as we needed the opportunity after the parade to freshen up before "hitting the road" back to Virginia.

"Great For The Price But Felt Old"
This was our first time staying in the boutique a hotel. The Madeira hotel was nice however it seemed little bit old. The hotel was a obvious conversion from a apartment building into a hotel and many of the features has not really been updated. But the room was clean you can control your own temperature. However the bathroom was small and the pillows or just to soft. It was difficult to get a good nights sleep more than anything when you travel you love a good nights sleep in a foreign bed. The bathroom also was small and the door for the bathroom gets caught on the floor mat the door needs to be fixed. But the staff was great and friendly, the wind was nice however it was not the best wine, and the coffee in the morning was good hot and fresh. The location was great but just a warning parking is expensive $45 a night for valet parking, really though for you five dollars a night is the average in Washington DC. You can find all street parking but I can be a little difficult but the neighborhood is safe. The area though is great I really like the area there's lots around close convenient restaurant but not close convenient convenience stores like 7-Eleven or other stores. But overall it was enjoyable stay I would recommend it to other people considering this area however next time I will try am more modern hotel even if it cost a little more money but still a boutique hotel.
