There was a bad smell when you walked in that stayed throughout the house. The layout was chopped up, so that there was no comfortable place for the six of us to gather. We ended up using kitchen chairs to watch tv and talk. The single bathroom really made things hard. Thank goodness it was a congenial group. We all felt it was way overpriced for what it offered. No one was interested in sitting outside because of the bugs. There was one tiny tray of ice cubes in the freezer. Linens had seen better days. Beds creaked, window air conditioners were noisy and ineffective. It seemed no attempt had been made to make things comfortable or attractive. A great big disappointment. My teenage daughter even complimented the house’s “viby aesthetic.” We greatly appreciated the sauna after cold swims in Lake Superior. The property manager was amazing and helpful. It’s on a super quiet road but still relatively close to town. He was very communicative and generous. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. We spent most of our time by the fire on the back patio area.
