Very nice quirky hotel. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was yummy snd freshly cooked. Staff pleasant the hotel is very small with rooms upstairs. A very narrow set of stairs to the rooms. Ours was on the third level and it was hard to get our bags up. I would stay there again but i would take a small bag with what i needed to the room and leave the suitcases in the car. Street parking. Just what i imagined an English pub to be. This lovely little pub/hotel punches well above its weight in terms of quality and value. Very engaging staff team providing a comfortable stay, nothing too much trouble. Restaurant food was superb and so much better than the homogeneous chain hotel fare. Upon arrival the staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel has a nice cozy feel, great aesthetics. The room was clean, huge bath and shower in the Luxury double. All the facilities you could ask for. Added bonus, two beautiful dogs that were roaming in the hotel to welcome you. We were visiting a friend in Warwick and stayed for two nights at the Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel. First of all, the owners are an absolute delight, from check in to check out they make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. No elevators, but not to worry - the gentleman who checked us in easily carried our two 50 pound suitcase to the top floor for us - at the same time! The rooms are nicely appointed with lots of coffee, tea, snacks and still and sparkling water (the latter was much appreciated!) The bathrooms are very modern and updated. The shower was hot and strong, loved it! We slept well, as the hotel is located on a quiet street away from the bustle (but just a short walk to) the city center. I had breakfast twice and dinner once at the hotel and both were fantastic! Plenty of food, good tasting at the right temperature. Our room was on the small side but was very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast both mornings and dinner twice. All meals were delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and having a double bed each was great but the bedding was really heavy. Shower broken in bathroom (clearly for a while as other reviews also mention it). None of the staff were particularly warm or welcoming.
