Had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was clean, friendly and had everything we needed. Small problem with the bill for our meal not been correctly charged to the room but was quickly and efficiently resolved the next morning by the friendly reception staff.
The staff here are extrememly friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. Reception excellent as are the bar and restaurant staff. Everybody greets you warmly whether this is maintenance staff or the manager. On our last night the family came to join us and the bar manager cordoned off an area in the lounge so we could all eat and be together. As a result everyone had a rally lovely evening. Staff are very child friendly but equally this is a good hotel for the business person, excellent and free WiFi, good mobile reception.
"Lounge and bar area is nice but rooms need updatin"
Third time staying here - the bar/lounge is comfortable but rooms looking a bit shabby eg electric socket loose, kettle had to be held down on base, sink slow to drain. Usually a good breakfast but this time food was cold.

Excellent food in restaurant, staff helpful and friendly. Room refurbished, bathroom tastefully refitted, but room needs attention to small details. Some curtain hooks missing, screws in bathroom door handle missing handle loose, light shade above bed missing. Minor details and reason for 4 instead of 5
"Modern and clean with a quirky decor that I liked."
Excellent bed and bedding. Clean and very comfortable. Massive confusion on booking as hotel had a "we are closed message" on its answerphone but the owner personally called and sorted this out in a friendly fashion. Unfortunate that the WiFi was not working during my stay. Despite these glitches however I would use it again, it is very very good value for money.
