In 1988 we stayed here for our wedding night. It cost 3 times more then than it does now. However for a low cost break (forty four incl brekky) this was not too bad.
The room is comfortable and the en-suite is strangely retro in style (not sure if it's just always been the same though)
The breakfast was okay though some of the hot items (black pudding and fried bread) could have been cooked the day before and kept warm as they had gone very crunchy.
A shadow of it's former self, but not too shabby...
This Village Hotel is set in a business park away from the main roads making it quite peaceful There's plenty of parking all round the building.
Reception for checking in was quick, efficient and friendly.
The room I was allocated on the second floor was as requested away from the stairs and lift so very little noise except from the usual odd few people who just can't close their room door quietly.
The room itself was fine but the bed pillows could do to be somewhat thicker or there should be more available in the room. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner but it did not put me off. Hand cleaner, shower gel and shampoo were fine.
The staff in the restaurant give a warm welcome and are attentive morning and night. The evening menu is more than adequate and the food well cooked though perhaps a little pricey particularly for drinks. Breakfast has all the usual except for two of the three days there was only scrambled eggs not fried yet there was on my last morning. I overheard someone saying the hotel was encouraging healthy eating. Maybe maybe not.
Excellent food in restaurant, staff helpful and friendly. Room refurbished, bathroom tastefully refitted, but room needs attention to small details. Some curtain hooks missing, screws in bathroom door handle missing handle loose, light shade above bed missing. Minor details and reason for 4 instead of 5
I had a great time staying in the holiday inn. The room was amazing and they made sure it had all the requirements I had asked for. The staff at the reception and the bar were also really lovely and helpful! I would definitely stay there again!
I needed a decent hotel close to conference facilities at Birchwood Park. I chose Pentahotel as it was the closest and reviews were ok.
Pleasantly surprised with lobby area and restaurant.
Attentive staff. very friendly and welcoming.
Room ok. Bed not very comfy though and road noise kept me awake.
I would stay here again for convenience of location to the conference facilities I use.

Hotel was spacious. Walk from Lift to room was quite long. Room was good size, clean, and comfortable.
Car park could do with more Disabled Parking Bays.
Staff were helpful and polite.
Breakfast was help yourself - but plenty of choice.
Evening meal was lovely.
"Modern and clean with a quirky decor that I liked."
Excellent bed and bedding. Clean and very comfortable. Massive confusion on booking as hotel had a "we are closed message" on its answerphone but the owner personally called and sorted this out in a friendly fashion. Unfortunate that the WiFi was not working during my stay. Despite these glitches however I would use it again, it is very very good value for money.
