A cozy lounge with a fully equipped kitchen also offers space for sociable evenings. Cranes and storks can be easily observed in the varied landscape with forests, meadows and rivers. For excursions on the nearby Peene, canoes and kayaks with life jackets are available in the boat shed, subject to availability.

The district of Upost in the Peenetal near Lake Kummerow is part of the municipality of Warrenzin, which in turn is part of the Mecklenburg Lake District and is located west of the city of Demmin. Parts of this region have been designated as a nature reserve since 2010. The slitting of the dikes created a paradise for rare bird species such as wild geese. The area is a popular holiday region, especially for water hikers, as its many forests, meadows and rivers provide ideal conditions for a carefree day in the fresh air.
