It's a great place for people who like to snorkel, dive, fish and sail, or for those who like to keep their feet on land while enjoying a fabulous ocean view! Enjoy watching the boats sail into Maalaea Harbor and visit Maui's #1 tourist attraction, the Maui Ocean Center, as well as shops and restaurants at the end of the street! Island life is complete with ceiling fans in both bedrooms, the living room and dining room and split air units in each bedroom and the living area! The whales come back every year from December to April to put on their incredible show which can be seen while having breakfast on the lanai or directly in front of Kanai A Nalu. If you're up for more adventure, the Maalaea Harbor, just down the street, has daily boat tours to Molokini reef for snorkeling and scuba diving, or whale watching and sunset tours. World class golfing can be found all over Maui, some of the closest courses- Sandalwood, Waikapu, Lani and Elleair (Silversword) are within just a few minutes drive. Centrally located on the island, only 10 minutes from the airport in Kahului and 15-20 minutes away from the tourist areas of Wailea and Kaanapali, Kanai A Nalu is world's apart in it's solitude. The condo complex is on a quiet dead end street that ends at a park and 700 acre Kealia Nature Preserve. The other end of the street boasts the Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium), shops and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The beach stretches for miles to the east, in front of the nature preserve and its gentle surf is great for boogie boarding, snorkeling and beginning surfers. Due to the preserve, there is no development for the first several miles along this picturesque beach so many times, you'll be one of the few on it. Whether you're looking for adventure or just want to get away from all the hustle and bustle, Maalaea is a great place to start! You can lounge by our heated pool or snorkel with the giant sea turtles. If you'd like to cook your own meals, you can do so in our full size kitchen, or use the gas or charcoal BBQ by the pool-but if you'd rather let someone else do the work, Maui has many wonderful restaurants. This one was my wife and I could relax. The condo is well stocked, except for salt. Bring it if you want. We left some the first time we stayed but it didn't make it. I was prepared though. We have taken road trips to check out other beaches. This one by far is the best we have found. It is out of the way and central to most everything. Like Krispy Kreme, my breakfast destination. We don't have on on the Bihg Island. It can be windy at times. If it is more than you can deal with, head towards the bottom of the island. Beaches are better and there is a lot less traffic. This time the location was very windy, we just ended up driving to a beach closer to Kihei but we do love the central location being within half hour of almost everything we wanted to do. Very clean and quiet location, Lynette was great to deal with again. This was our second stay here And it did not disappoint. ##### Rose S. If this is your first time visiting Maui, you can’t do better. You’ll be adjacent to the longest, undeveloped beach in West Maui, with waves calm enough for young ones but still interesting enough for teens. Kīhei, Lao Valley and Lāhainā are a short drive away, as is the airport and roads to Hana and Haleakala. The condo is well furnished and the host is excellent—quick to respond to questions and concerns, very much interested in your stay being pleasurable. Highly recommended. ##### Stephan Eirik C. Perfect condo with everything we needed. It's a quiet area. The pool was perfect. We love having the beach close by and being able to walk to Tantes for dinner. All the equipment, appliances, and electronic devices worked fine, and the location, view and access to the places we needed to get to were convenient. The rooms were well equipped, and the furnishings were comfortable and very adequate. We enjoyed our stay, only wish we had more time to explore and enjoy more sites. ##### Don D. The condo is well appointed, with plenty of towels/sheets, kitchen appliances etc. The view is fantastic, and love taking walks on Sugar Beach. The hosts’ communication was excellent and check-in went super smoothly, with on-site parking and a unique door code for our stay providing good security. The suite has lots of space, was very clean, had a lanai that looked out on the ocean, and an adequate kitchen. The ensuite bathroom with shower was a great unique feature. The hosts provided beach chairs, a cooler, and boogie boards with fins—everything we needed for the beach. Ma’alea is a great place to be on the island in that it is close to everything, but quieter because it’s not in the thick of Kihei tourist town. We can’t wait to stay here again! ##### Grant P. Other than that, it was a great stay. The place was clean with a nice lanai. Kitchen was well appointed. Short, easy walk to park with great beach access. Didn't use the pool but it looked lovely. The entire grounds are well taken care of and there is an elevator for easy transport of luggage and groceries. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again. ##### Kellie L. The people were friendly. The property doesn’t have a beach or water access. You can walk down a couple of properties to access a beach, but it had people living on it and was awkward to hangout at. We were hoping to spend evenings at the property, but on a beach. The pool was open and a good option. The view from our room overlooked the pool and the ocean. It was nice. We had a great time and the condo was perfect for our family of 5 and in a great location! The patio has a great view of the pool and beach. Our 8 year old slept on the pull out couch and said it was so comfy. Thanks for putting a great mattress in there! The kitchen was stocked so well so we could cook a delicious breakfast and dinner. We were thrilled to find a rice cooker because we use one multiple times a week at home and wanted to make rice with pur meals.. There are PLENTY of bath and beach towels too. Our kids really enjoyed the boogie boards and beach equipment that was provided and the beach nearby was right around the corner. It was also the perfect place to whale watch. The king size bed needs to be replaced. The side of the bed next to the window felt like you were going to fall out of the bed. I had to sleep partly on my husbands side just so I could get some sleep. Everything was pretty much as expected. The only other negative was that the washing machine really needs to be cleaned. The unit is on the 4th floor at the corner/end of the building. There are elevators and even a luggage cart! So handy!! We had amazing views of the pool and the ocean. There was an air conditioner in the living room, which was great, but despite having ceiling fans, the bedrooms were hot. There was an oscillating fan in the 2nd bedroom and we bought a box fan for the master. It solved the problem! There were chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, and even snorkeling gear available to use! The chairs and umbrella came in so handy! The condo is right near the marina where many excursions leave from. It was nice to be close. We were able to explore all over Maui and we enjoyed being close to everything. The washer and dryer were quite useful, although a laundry basket might have helped sine the “laundry room” is in the kitchen. The refrigerator was big and kept everything cold. The only downside is that there’s no available pantry, so we lost a lot of counter space with our groceries. One of the best features was that there were PLENTY of USB ports for us to plug in our phones and the kids’ games. Overall, the stay was great and I highly recommend this place!! ##### TeAnn P.
