Located in the acclaimed Kolea community, one of the most sought-after oceanfront developments on the island, Hale Mermaid penthouse is a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath luxury penthouse with partial views of Anaeho’omalu Bay. It is an 'end-unit' which allows light and cooling breezes from 3 sides. You can easily walk to Kolea's private Beach Club, then directly to the sugar-sandy beach at Anaehoʻomalu Beach. The Marriott \[with Luau\] located right next door. Easy stroll to the King's and the Queen's outdoor upscale shopping malls and plenty of fine restaurants. Lava Lava outdoor seaside restaurant is a short walk along A-Bay. Fun spot! The resort has direct access to ANAEHO'OMALU Beach, also known as "A Bay" which is protected from high surf by an offshore reef. It is great for swimming, snorkeling, walks along the beach and a stroll to Lava Lava Beach Club restaurant. Boat excursions start at A-Bay and equipment rentals are available from vendors on the beach. A-Bay also has restrooms, outdoor showers, drinking water and a cat sanctuary located at the entrance to the beach making this beach a gem on the Kohala Coast. Always look for a Kolea condo and this one is one of the best. Owners are very responsive and kind. Condo is on 3rd floor with vaulted ceilings and a partial ocean view. Tons of beach toys and a beach buggy wagon hat was perfect for hauling the grandkids and their stuff to the beach. The pool area is a great place for the littles to splash and play. We’ve stayed in Waikoloa many times, but our first experience at Kolea Kai was truly exceptional. The condo exceeded all our expectations, providing everything we needed for a perfect stay. We were fortunate to meet Steve and Maryanne, the gracious owners, who stopped by to pick up some items from their closet. They were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home.The condo was thoughtfully appointed with ample storage space and all necessary supplies, so we didn't have to purchase anything during our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking essentials and basic food items like condiments, olive oil, and spices. The beds were comfortable, and the condo remained cool throughout our stay.We particularly loved the pool area, which was the nicest we've ever experienced in a condo complex. The attendant provided towels, adding a touch of luxury to our poolside relaxation. It was nice to have access to coolers, beach wagon, boogie boards, beach towels and beach chairs since we were traveling as a family. The lanai was really nice and we cooked many meals while staying at this property. There was a used diaper in one of the laundry bins when we arrived, therefore gave it 4 stars for cleanliness, otherwise it was very clean. The dryer did have some difficulty operating due to an error message, but we were able to get it working. Love being able to do laundry while away so that arrival at home is easy, without loads of work to do. Everything looked exactly like the pictures. We stayed for nearly 10 days, and it really felt like a home away from home. Steve and Maryanne thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible - there were beach towels for use in the laundry room, shampoo and conditioner in each of the showers, rice/flour/spices for us, and of course, we loved having beach chairs and umbrellas at our disposal. Above all, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We are used to staying at condos where things are sparse when it comes to cooking (one didn't even have an oven mitt!), but this condo had everything! We don't have little kids anymore, but I appreciated that they had plates and utensils for babies/toddlers. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't glow about how beautiful the condo complex is. We've stayed at Kolea many times before, but this is the first time at Steve and Maryanne's. Their condo is a corner unit on the 3rd floor with very high ceilings that make the space feel very spacious. Because of the 3rd floor you get a fanatic view! It is a quick walk to the Kolea pool and 5-10 min walk to A-Bay where we spent most of our time. My family also noted that out of all our rentals this one was the most stocked with regards to cookware, kitchen utensils, spices, coffee, toiletries, and especially paper towels and toilet paper. We very much appreciated that! Also offered are a bunch of beach gear including snorkels, boogie boards, and a very handy beach wagon (this was very handy at Hapuna Beach). One minor improvement would be to upgrade the TV streaming system as we had some issues streaming. Overall our family loved our stay and would definitely return! ##### Kenneth D.
