The best area to stay in Vourvoulos is along the beachfront, particularly near the main Vourvoulos Beach, for direct access to the sea and a relaxed atmosphere. This area is characterised by its relatively undeveloped coastline compared to other parts of the island, offering a more tranquil experience. You'll find a scattering of villas and guesthouses located amongst the vineyards, with direct paths leading to the black sand and pebble beaches. The main beach itself is a long stretch of coastline, often less crowded than other popular spots on the island, and a few tavernas are dotted along the shore. For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, the beachfront area is ideal. It provides a quiet escape from the busier tourist hubs, allowing for romantic strolls along the shore and dinners with sea views. The slower pace makes it great for unwinding and enjoying the natural beauty of the Aegean.Families with children will also find the beachfront a good fit. The less crowded beaches offer plenty of space for children to play, and the shallow waters near the shore are suitable for younger swimmers.

The best time to visit Vourvoulos is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October. These months offer pleasant weather with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, but without the intense heat and crowds of the peak summer months. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a romantic getaway or for anyone wanting to explore the island's beauty without the hustle and bustle. If you're planning a family holiday, late June and July are also good options, though they are busier. The sea is wonderfully warm, great for swimming and water activities.
