The charm starts when you turn off the paved road and onto the gravel road . It’s a very short drive on this road as you travel through the lush surroundings, to then be welcomed into a circular driveway surrounded by luscious scenery and a fairy tale cabin. As you enter Hale Sweet Hale, you’ll be greeted by the spirit of Aloha. Skylights in all the rooms let in the morning sun and the evening moonlight and starlight. The covered lanai expands across the entire back of the home. Wish we had stayed for the whole week. The location can’t be beat, basically right around the corner from the national park but feels a world away. The home is clean and very well appointed with everything we could have needed (and some lovely extras like the towel warmer!). The hot tub was so nice after long hikes in the park, especially while listening to the rain hit the roof of the covered lanai. I loved everything about our stay and hope to return. After a bit of a bumpy ride you find yourself in a tastefully decorated, very clean little house in the rainforest. Falling asleep to the sound of the frogs and waking up to the sounds of birds was wonderful. Lorena was great on communication and answering any questions in a timely manner. The kitchen was well furnished with dishes. The only downside being the handle to the microwave was broken. Being so close to the park guaranteed full days of exploring & hiking. The hot tub at the end of the day was wonderful. We would not hesitate to return. ##### Joan U. We loved the twin beds for our children. The hot tub was welcomed after a long day of hiking in Hawaii Volcanos National Park. We felt like we were in the tropics with all the beautiful flowers and foliage around us! We had a fantastic stay at this charming property! The wood-burning fireplace added such a cozy touch, and the vibe and decoration throughout the space were just amazing -- so thoughtful and inviting. The beds were very comfortable, and we loved the sense of privacy the home offered. The hot tub was a highlight and was perfect for relaxing under the stars. Loved the dreamy backyard and surroundings! The cabin had all the amenities you needed for your stay. The hot tub was a plus especially after a long hike! Thank you. We were pleasantly surprised by how well maintained the property was give the dampness in this part of the island.The only negative, as mentioned by others, is the security camera that's directed right at the hut tub. We didn't notice this at first and were surprised to see it. I see that the owner mentioned it's not monitored but it's not clear if it's not recording? It would be such an easy problem to fix by moving the camera, I'm shocked it hasn't been addresses give all the negative feedback. ##### Chris A. The cabin is situated on a rural grass road, surrounded by trees, birds singing all day and frogs peeping at night. It feels like you are in the middle of the jungle, yet it’s only minutes away from Volcano National Park. The cabin is picturesque both inside and out. The location provides easy access to the national park as well as Hilo, and other island activities. The house is well-kept, clean, and provided all the amenities we needed. Tucked in the woods it is adorable, very clean, has all the amenities you need to be comfortable and is perfectly located for visiting the volcano. Lorena, the host, was amazing to deal with and easy to get in touch with if we needed anything during our stay. I highly recommend her property if you are looking for quick access to VNP. It’s very private and well equipped with any amenities you might need. The hot tub was a nice perk after a long day of exploring. The location was so convenient for accessing volcano national park and we timed it just right and were able to see Kīlauea erupting! I stay in many B&Bs across the country and can literally say this was the absolute best. We all loved the place from the moment we arrived. It is very welcoming with many thoughtful touches. The location was absolutely perfect as it was a bit out of town and very private, but not too far. The woodstove was perfect on cool evenings and they even provided firestarter and kindling. The cabin was clean, warm, and well-appointed. The hot tub was in great, working condition. The communication with and directions from the host were excellent. Honestly, the hostesses communication was flawless and the property was even better than the listing indicated. My wife and i had the time of our lives. The location felt very secluded and private and the weather was exactly what we needed. Proximity to VNP meant we could hike all day and then relax in the hot tub.
