In a stunning situation just over a mile walk from Pinhao town centre, a gentle uphill gradient on the way back. Many of the rooms are in the separate Amarela building, a 5 minute uphill walk from the main building over a cobbled road, difficult to pull a suitcase over. The rooms are delightful, with their own swimming pool. Good inclusive breakfasts but evening meals in the restaurant are pricey for what they are. The hotel buggy took our cases up to Amarela on arrival but, astonishingly, was unavailable to collect our suitcases on check-out despite asking 24 hours in advance. The hotel is clearly run primarily for the benefit of its staff with guests a distant second, which lets it badly down. Otherwise excellent.
