The daily breakfast buffet is well-attended. There is also a Highlands Coffee in the lobby. The hotel chain has two locations in Vinh. This location was the quieter one away. The room was large and well-insulated for quiet. The A/C works well. The staff are useless. Will listen but do nothing. The bed was old, lumpy, and could feel the springs. Pillows lumpy and unusable so we put pur heads on our own folded beach towels. The breakfast was awful. Cold food, cold coffee, UHT milk labelled as fresh milk, and at room temperature. Broken chairs, filthy tables and dead flies littering the dining room floor. I read this: “The only reasons to stop here are if you're a Ho Chi Minh devotee (he was born in a nearby village), or if you're heading to Laos.”. I somewhat agree with this statement accept for this hotel. It was a wonderful respit from the road. It was the best hotel I stayed at in Vietnam, by far. Also it’s an oasis in another sense. There is no tourism here.
