I had a trouble with the Checkin at this property. There was no one at the front desk when I reached. The hotel staff told me to wait for an hour. Other than Checkin, the hotel was little rustic. Bathroom and rooms were outdated.

Relatively affordable place compared to others in similar area. Old place; walls between the room are waaay too thin, and you could clearly hear the other room's conversations, or people in the next room snoring etc!

Just a place to sleep and be on your way.
The place needs some reconditioning. It's clearly old and outdated. Although it seemed relatively clean, the old interior, bathroom fittings and furniture made it look like a hotel that hasn't been renovated for 20 years. The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Didn't try the breakfast which would have been 10eur/pers. The location is quite central though. Overall, if you're looking for a place to sleep, it's fine.

Everything is very nice, including the location, only the blankets could be a little bit wider. The lighting is extremely poor. It was the only really weak point in our staying.

Everything was ok! They are nice and helpful people. The place is old and it requires some touches. But, it was clean and a few blocks away from subway/metro/Tube. Tram is available on the street. So, it’s an easy access for any transportation.

The members of the staff were very helpful. The room was a little old, but it was very nice. The location was in a really good place. It was very close to the center of Vienna.

My stay in Vienna
The outside of the hotel looks aged. However, once inside, the rooms were comfortable, the bath worked well, the staff was very friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was more than adequate. I would have no problems staying there again, particularly considering the price. Also, the place was only about a 15 minute walk to Stefansplatz and St. Stephens beautiful Cathedral.

Amazing location!
I loved the gentleman that checked us in and out he was great! I was a little sad that I left my earrings there but the hotel is in a great location for walking and having some peace and quiet

It was nice and pleasing stay in this hotel. Staff was friendly and talkative, but room bit uncomfortable. Despite that they knew I'm coming alone, they still shouldn't remove the extra pillow and blanket from my bed and keep just one towel. Also the wall and sink was bit "tired" as it looked like it haven't renovated or repaired. But I liked that they had locker in the room and some cups as well. Location was great too. It was basic, but not bad experience to stay in this hotel.

Comfortable bed and breakfast hotel in excellent.
This hotel is hidden away in an old apartment building, but once you get inside it has everything you need for a base to explore Vienna. Clean, comfortable en suite roons with breakfast, helpful friendly staff and some very good rates for budget travellers. The Schottentor metro/tram/bus interchange is a few minutes walk from the hotel and there is also a tram stop right outside, but you can walk into the heart of Old Vienna in ten minutes. It takes about 30 minutes to Schönbrunn on public transport from Am Schottenpoint.

A wonderful stay !!
This hotel is small, but very welcoming. I am a 62 yr. old female traveling with my daughter and niece, I felt very comfortable with the hotel and location. I needed 3 twin beds and this hotel offers that. On arrival I was greeted by a very friendly gentlemen that checked me in - in no time. He also said if I needed anything please don't hesitate to ask. Walking distance to attractions and the city center. This hotel fit all my needs. I would definitely stay there again. My sincere thanks to the staff at the Hotel am Schottenpoint. I loved Vienna !!

From outside it looks like a real dump. Weren't even sure we wanted to go in. It was dark when we arrived and the hallway was dark and long! However, once we were in, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast included was very good. It was close to everything! In the daylight, there are beautiful portraits in that long hallway! All in all it was pretty good!

Lovely hotel, definitely recommend!
No air conditioning, hotel only has small sign so can easily be missed but the rest was wonderful! Room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good. Front staff was very helpful and luckily everything important to see in Vienna is walking distance. Would stay again.

Pleasant budget hotel in good location.
Booked for a business trip. Good walking distance from U-Bahn, trams and bus stops, as well as being a c.20min walk from historic centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and warm. Good price. Downsides were: a limited choice for breakfast, no tea/coffee in room - just a kettle, looks a tad intimidating from outside, reception not 24hrs, annoying humming noise in room that prevented sleep.

Great service and hospitality.
We stayed with family in this hotel and had an absolutely great experience. The hotel is quite well priced and have good rooms price wise. The Manager at the hotel was very helpful and accommodating to our travel changes and handled this very nicely, great example of the good Customer Service. Our stay was very comfortable, rooms were really clean and hotel was nicely located near in commuting wise to tourist locations and public transport. I would definitely recommend this for future travelers especially on Customer Service which we received, thankful to the Manager again !!

Clean but very much in need of updates
This hotel is well situated and it was cheap. It was clean when I arrived but housekeeping was spotty during the 5 days I was there. There were many small things that contributed to a general unwelcoming feeling. Personnel was morose without being unfriendly. The photo of the entrance is not even actually of the hotel but of a hallway in front of it. It looks nice on a photo but is incredibly damaged and neglected. The hotel itself is dark and makes an unloved impression. There was a hole in my bedsheet and the shower was hard to control. My window overlooked a dark courtyard that was so small I could look into my neighbour's room. Which was presumably mutual so if you wanted any privacy there was no choice but to keep curtains closed all day. There was a kettle but no tea or coffee to use. I went and bought my own. Breakfast was included and was very sparse. To end on a positive note: the Internet was very strong.

Perfect 3 Star European Option.
This hotel was the perfect 3 star European option. The pros: close to the trams and metro, Freud's home, the Votivkirche (church), Votive Kino (art house cinema), grocery store Billa, and plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes. The front desk staff was helpful and the wifi strong. The breakfast was a selection of bread, meats and cheese, yogurt, fruit and juice - good to get the day started. The room and beds were comfortable, the shower hot and strong. To consider: the hotel offers "body and hair gel" in the shower, so if you prefer, bring your own shampoo, conditioner and soap. At the sink is the same gel. The safe in the room may not hold a standard size laptop. You can borrow a hairdryer from the front desk.

Great breakfast convenient to downtown
They had a great breakfast with plenty of fruit and other choices. They happily did our laundry. Towels were clean and neighborhood is near the university, so there are plenty of non-touristy restaurants nearby. Try the tropical hard candies that are in baskets along the halls.

The room was very clean and comfortable. When the heating wasn't working, I called to reception and before long the heating came on. The hotel is walking distance from the Hofburg. If you don't want to walk you can get the tram to Schottentor and then the underground into the centre of the city. The hotel has internet access which you can use and charges for printing. There was a minibar in my room, which was useful at times. Overall a very good experience.
