The location was very tourist friendly - parking and walking everywhere was great. I just didn’t know when I booked it - I would be in a basement and at first that was very concerning. I feel like that should be noted -but the windows were large enough that I didn’t feel too claustrophobic. It was clean- had all the amenities however a boot rug under the coat rack would have been perfect to catch all the dirt and not spread it around the apartment. The Westman Islends are an amazing area and a must do in Iceland. The hotel exceeded our expectations and the manager was unbelievably helpful. Only 2 disadvantaged that would not stop me from returning. Although the beds are very comfortable there is barely enough space to get out of bed:) and that could be a problem for heavier people especially when using the bathroom at night. The second issue is that they do not offer complimentary coffe and sugar in the room . We had our own coffee but I needed to go to the bar to ask for a couple of cubes of sugar which they kindly gave me. Clean place, the lounge with coffee facilities were nice. Bit of a ghost town as we didn’t see anyone else in the accomodation. We didn’t have our pre stay communication replied to. Communication wasn’t easy if you need anything special. You have to go to the nearby hotel to pick up the keys to this place as there’s no one on site and they have some kind of relationship. Light in the rooms if you need darkness to sleep. The third bed on the rollout wasn’t made, just the sheets left by the couch. Felt like a missed chance at being a bit more considerate and comfortable. Each assigned us a different room and key box codes. This was very confusing. The apartment was clean and new. Not a grain of salt or coffee on the premises so you need to take all the basics or else buy locally. Good blackout curtains and quiet at night. We could not get the tv to work but otherwise all was good. It is a central location and if you want to eat out there are several options close by.
