Great location on Venice Beach

Posted 25-Aug-2017
Staff was great, room was nice and it was great being able to walk right out the door and have the beach so close. I didn't realize the rooftop didntmoffer food or drink, it was nice but bring your own food or drink. They had beach towels, boogie boards and other beach related items that were complimentary use, very nice!! The kitchenette was great, could've saved a ton of money if I would've just gone to the grocery store and ate there. We enjoyed our stay!!

Great location

Posted 8-Jul-2017
Pros: price was reasonable for right on the beach.
Location: right in the heart of Venice so close to everything there. We took a $10 cab to Santa Monica pier for the evening. Weather was great
extras with micro, stove, refrig. small when you add a fold out bed. nice and clean

Great for Venice Beach experience

Posted 4-Jul-2017
Small, vintage hotel located on the beach strand - right in the middle of things and close to airport, shopping and food; only downside is there is no onsite parking - one has a choice of paying $20/night at a public lot 2 blocks away or unavailable street parking. Lot closes at 9 pm.

Great location in the middle of everything

This was a very nice hotel. Room was a little small and the bathroom was even smaller but still a very nice experience. Hotel staff was great and very accommodating. Would recommend this location for a great experience.

Poor service, Poor management, Don't stay here.

Posted 28-May-2017 on Hotels
Memorial Day weekend and the hotel room prices were appropriately jacked up, especially for this quaint hotel right on Venice Beach. You'd think that management would've prepared for the sold out weekend. On Saturday morning, I went down to the office for free cups of coffee for my wife and myself. There was only one Keurig K-cup left for the Saturday morning guests. So, I ran water through it twice. For the hotel guests who came down after me looking for coffee, sorry about that. I used the last one. We left the room at mid-morning to walk along the beach and peruse the many shops and restaurants. I left the "Service Room" sign on our room doorknob so that housekeeping would know they could clean up our room and leave fresh towels. When we returned 5 hours later, the room hadn't been serviced yet, so I went down to the office to let the manager on duty know. I was told that they only had 2 housekeepers today, not the normal 3, but she was happy to give me a supply of fresh towels. Maybe they'll get around later today to clean the room. Another example of poor management for a holiday weekend. While I was in the office, I noticed that there were still no K-cups for the Keurig machine. I asked if they weren't able to find more cups, and the lady told me she'd talked to the owner about it. He told her he probably wouldn't get around to buying more until Monday or Tuesday. Great! We'll be making coffee at home by then. Yet another example of poor management for a holiday weekend

Charming hotel right on the beach

Posted 14-May-2017
Overall I really enjoyed staying here. My room was very cute and clean and had it's own kitchen area which I thought was great. While the hotel is right in the heart of the busy street with crowds during the day, inside my room was always peaceful and the streets are quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. Check out is at 11AM but my flight was in the evening and even though they couldn't extend my checkout due to the rooms being full, they watched my luggage at the desk all day while I was out and about. The rooftop deck has beautiful views. It is windy and there is nothing to block the wind so it's hard to stay up there this time of year when it's not that hot out yet! The only annoyance was that the shower in my room was small and you had to aim the shower head over towards the wall before turning the water on or else it sprays everywhere. But all in all a perfect location and great place to stay.

Quirky, Fun place to stay

Posted 23-Apr-2017
Recently spent 3 nights here during Spring Break visit to LA with 12 year old granddaughter. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Nice to have mini kitchen, groceries within a 5 minute walk, lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Granddaughter loved "Betsy", 100-plus year old elevator.
