It is found about 10 minutes on foot from St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, about 3 minutes on foot from the Vaporetto stop, with various groceries and supermarkets in the surroundings. Castello is less touristy and more authentic than other districts, in the last few years always more requested by art collectors, artists, gallerists and architects because of its proximity to the Biennale main exhibition sites. The Petrarca features a perfectly equipped kitchen with a large dining table, two nice bathrooms (with bathtub and shower), a large double bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space, a good size second bedroom with 2 single beds, a compact living room (TV room) with a brand-new double sofa-bed and a spacious entrance room found in the centre of the apartment which give access to all other rooms. The recent conservative renovation optimized the layout, allowing total comfort for up to 6 people, while respecting the ancient heritage. The Petrarca is furnished with a pleasant blend of family-owned antique pieces and contemporary details, which jointly to the beautiful flooring and ceilings confer a unique allure to the ambience. It is equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi internet connection, satellite TV, DVD-Player, audio system, washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, safe, storage room on ground floor. L'appartement est très bien, la localisation est à un endroit encore authentique et calme.Les points négatifs : pas très pratique pour les bagages quand on a un avion le soir si on doit quitter l'appartement le matin. Il n'y a pas de consigne à proximité. Cela oblige à aller à San Marco alors que beaucoup plus près il y a Fondamente Nuove mais là, il n'y a pas de consigne. Ensuite prendre l'Alilaguna depuis San Marco dure 1h30, alors que c'est seulement 30mn de Fondamente Nuove.Le gérant est supposé parler français, ce n'est pas le cas. Il faut donc parler anglais et cela peut amener à des malentendus.Dernier point sur l'arrivée : le taxi n'était pas là, nous avons attendu plus de 20 mn or nous avions payé un supplément dans l'avion pour avoir nos bagages avec nous.... et pris un taxi pour arriver avant 20h. Mais au final, l'agence n'a pas compté les frais pour arrivée tardive et nous l'en remercions. ##### Michele B. A Vaperetto stop is not too far away, which took us to the Giardini; the Arsenale is walking distance. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a grocer across the street and a produce vendor nearby, so we ate in quite a bit. The bathrooms and bedrooms are as described and comfortable. The hosts have a well structured notebook with all necessary information, as well as suggestions for restaurants. The apartment has high ceilings, which helped it feel spacious. There is not a living room, so the kitchen was our base. The neighborhood is clean and safe and we used Apple Map and Google maps to navigate. Thanks to Truly Venice (management company) for scheduling water taxis for us to/from airport, and for providing someone to meet us at the water taxi to take us to the apartment and review all necessary information. And a very special thanks to Veronica at Truly Venice, for sourcing extra pillows for my bed. That helped so much. I recommend this apartment in the Castello. ##### Pat F. Wir waren, zwei Schwestern und die Großmutter unserer kleinen Kinder, für ein paar Tage in Venedig in dieser sehr zu empfehlenden Ferienwohnung. Schön eingerichtet, sauber, alles da in der Küche, Ankunft mit Wassertaxi mit 1 Minute Fußweg, 1 Minute Fußweg Supermarkt entfernt, fußläufig zu erreichen auch der Markusplatz. Zwar direkt einer Schule gegenüber, aber trotzdem still und wunderbar erholsam. Ein Zimmer und ein Bad haben den Blick auf einen stillen Innenhof. Die Dame, die uns an der Taxihaltestelle abgeholt und in die Wohnung geführt hat, war ganz wunderbar und hilfsbereit. Als ich zwischendurch und auch am Schluß spontan ein Wassertaxi brauchte, half mir das Team von truely Venice hilfsbereit und tatkräftig weiter. Unkompliziert und super nett. Tausend Dank!
