This large, airy and bright, non-smoking apartment is located on the third (last) floor, in a 500 year old architecturally-significant Palazzo. Renovated by a famous architect, the apartment is designed to create different spaces within it's wide open area: the wide living area with couch, chaise longues and armchairs; two cozy spaces with desks; a fully-equipped gourmand kitchen; a TV/Reading corner with a queen size sofa and opposite a corner that accommodates two single beds (which can be pushed together to function as a King bed). The master bedroom with Queen bed is totally separated from other spaces and is located in the opposite side, compared to the position of the single beds. The penthouse has two complete bathrooms: one with a shower and one with a tub. The apartment is equipped with all the modern comforts and facilities ,including air conditioning (Central Air Unit controllable in 4 zones), independent heating, free wifi internet connection, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven... In this very unusual and spacious Venetian property, very quite and silent, you have the possibility to relax after an exciting day and also take small daily breaks since it's literally within steps of the most popular sights, shops, and restaurants in San Marco. Thanks to its central location you can easily reach Piazza San Marco and the Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs in a few minutes walk. You'll have the opportunity to visit the monuments in the early morning, when they are not too crowded or you can be enchanted by the magic of Piazza San Marco in the night, with the orchestras playing. From the penthouse in 5-10 minutes walking you reach Rialto, Academia, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Piazza Santo Stefano, etc. In the immediate neighborhood you'll find a souvenir shop, pharmacy, pâtisserie, newspaper stand, coffee shop, good restaurant and bars, little grocery shop, fruit and vegetable shop, and also all the high fashion shops of the best Italian labels, that are located in this area of Venice. The apartment is perfect for short or long term stays. L'emplacement est une perle rare, dans une rue calme au coeur de Venise à 2 minutes de la place San Marco. La communication avec Edward a été efficace, toutes nos questions obtenaient des réponses, l'accueil par Giulio fut un régal, d'une gentillesse sans pareil, et surtout d'une grande aide pour les petites questions d'organisation arrivée / Départ. She warned us that the internet could be a little spotty but it turned out it was not functioning at all. Repeated calls to the owner and daughter went unanswered. As a vrbo owner myself I really needed to get online to communicate with my own guests and could not. There was also a sewer odor that was very unpleasant. Also the microwave would light up but did not work. There were just 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people for 3days. Towels were stiff. Some would call it "quaint", but as an architect myself, I have a great appreciation for the way in which Julio renovated this ancient structure into a warm, beautiful interior. One difficulty is the stairs to get there. Had it not been for my son, we would not have been able to get our large suitcase up there on our own, as the senior years stare us in the face. I think this should be made known beforehand. However, the charm of the place more than made up for that. Would love to stay there again in the future! ##### David h. It’s got everything you need and the unique loft design with exposed beams was a great feature. It was close to everything yet secure and quiet. Just around the corner from the entry is a quite spot by the canal where you can watch the gondolas and boats go by. Highly recommend this place. ##### Michael A. Bought a multi-day water taxi pass and used that to navigate the area. nice sandwich coffee shop 50 yards away. Everything worked well. ##### Ann A. We enjoyed staying in central San Marco without worrying about the noise. The check-in process was smooth and informative, but we didn't see the same level of support throughout. On the first morning we awoke to a strong sulphuric smell emanating from the AC in the bedroom and dining room. When we reached out to the PM, he said he'd check on it, but never followed up with us. The smell continued every morning of our stay even though we left the ACs off after the first night. The smell may be harmless, or within the building air ducts not the unit, but it was certainly anomalous to us and we had hoped it would be addressed during our stay. ##### Jessika D. Took a vaporetto from the airport - fun way to arrive and we were met at the stop and walked to the apartment. Easy check in process. The location cannot be beat- down a quiet Calle but near st Marco the host has provided helpful tips for eating well and a well stocked kitchen for staying in. The beds were comfortable, the heat and ac worked well, having 2 bathrooms was perfect! We’d definitely go back! ##### Cheryl M.
