We had a great time in Venice. Location wise the Bella Venezia couldn't have been better. Come out of the hotel turn right and you go towards Rialto turn left and you towards piazza San Marco. You can get a sea bus to all the stops but we found the best way to see Venice was to walk and get lost its amazing what you see. Every time you go around a corner you seem to come to a little square with a little church.

The B&B is a house that was transformed to B&B. The room was clean and had nice touches like a couple of champagne glasses, nice pictures, and most importantly - anti mosquito plug with a tablet - this was very relevant. The tablet was replaced every day as the room was cleaned.
The check in was good and the staff gave good directions on how to find the place. It is fairly close to the train station - only a couple of bridges to climb.
The room was advertised as "room with private bathroom". The bathroom was in fact private, but it was external so we had to put some extra clothes on to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. The bathroom was very clean and well equipped, but it was tiny and the shower cabin is almost not big enough to fit a big person in.
We didn't have to pay for the room at the time of the booking, as it had a free cancellation option. We were however contacted by e-mail 2 weeks prior to check in and got advised that the credit card we used when booking the room with Expedia was rejected by our financial institution (and it definitely was not a problem of insufficient funds on our side!) and got asked to provide another credit card otherwise our booking was going to be cancelled. It was only by luck that we checked the e-mail and were able to provide details over a "secure form" supplied by the hotel as we were already traveling - if we didn't check our e-mails we would have arrived to Venice and not have a room!
Overall, it was a nice experience.

Excellent Hotel and great value. Location very good, near to all areas. Venice is a superb ancient city with many good restaurants off the beaten track if you do your research. The Hotel restaurant is excellent with the taster menu providing a superb array of flavours.
It's great not to see any cars during our stay.
We stayed in the Grecale apratment in October. It exceeded our expectations in every possible way:
- very modern and clean
- 2 min walk to St. Marks and 5 min to Rialto
- very well equipped in kitchen utensils
In short we would definitely reccomend it to any- and everybody!
Had double bed room apartment. Very nice and clean. All the facilities what u have in ur house. It was two minutes walk from very famous Rialto bridge. Window was right at the canal and small bridge and u can see lots people walking towards to san marco square. Apartment was right at the centre and walk every where easily. I would definitely recommend this and actually it is ideal for family rather than a
Great location if you have to catch an early flight the next day.
Our room was new and everything was working.
Very quiet. No elevator but they helped us to bring the luggage upstairs
The staff was welcoming and friendly.
The garden is charming.
There are some remarkable fish restaurants nearby but they were closed (normal for monday evening)

This hotel had a great location in San Marco and was less than a 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge or St Marks Square. There were many shops and restaurants in walking distance too. Our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. Not a big deal in May, but it could be a bummer in the hotter months. The rest of the hotel was pretty basic, but it was clean and what you should expect for the price in such a central location. The manager was very nice and helpful.
