"Homely hotel with lovely staff."
Stephan and his team of lovely ladies run a superb homely hotel in my idea of a quintessential French market town. This was my second visit and God willing will not be my last. Everything about the place is rustic but comfortable and I can only say " I could live here ", Thank you all again.

"Wonderful little hotel in the best area of Avignon"
We loved our stay at Hotel de L'Horloge. The staff were lovely and very helpful. It's in the best spot in Avignon, right on Place Horloge and next to the Palais de Papes and close to the main strip of shops. Also the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel!

"Beautiful historic hotel, great location"
We arrived in Avignon by train, and this hotel was easy walking distance, even with heavy bags. It is one block off the main road which makes it peaceful and quiet, but still near shops and restaurants. Buffet breakfast is a bit expensive, but plenty of good food choices. The building itself is just lovely, built in the 1500s around a central courtyard. We liked the quirky historic rooms but ours had interior stairs so be sure to specify if you have limited mobility. The hotel does have an elevator. Look for the 16th century chapel just hidden away in the building - we found it by accident and it was spooky, dark, and wonderful!!

"Very Nice Hotel Far from Avignon"
This was a very nice hotel. The staff was very helpful and most personnel spoke very good English. The hotel and the rooms were very nice and centered around a beautiful courtyard. Our room had a patio with table and chairs which would have been very nice if it had not been so cold outside. The breakfast buffet was acceptable, although we arrived one day 20 minutes before the end and all of the hot items were gone and none were replaced. This was odd since there was a 16 euro charge per person for breakfast. The Hotel is located in a small town, Villeneuve-les-Avignon, outside of Avignon. It is NOT within walking distance to Avignon. The taxi ride costs about 16 euro one way. We were under the impression that the hotel was within a 20 minute walk of Avignon. It is actually about a 20 minute walk to the bus to Avignon which we were told only runs until 7pm. If you do not have a car, plan on the taxi fares of 32 euro round trip. In addition, one cold night it took us one and a half hours to get a taxi back to the hotel. We finally went to the train station taxi stand but that was no quicker. The first taxi refused to take us because it was too far.

"Great location and value"
The staff were very nice. The service was excellent. The location was very good as we could walk everywhere. There is a grocery store next door so you could get everything you needed close by. The room is spartan though and would have been claustrophobic if we had not had a terrace.

"Character full, with helpful,informative staff"
The hotel is located in an atmospheric side street. The rooms are very individual and are decorated with Provencal furnishings. The rooms were also comfortable and very clean. The staircases are steep as the hotel is located in an old building within the old city wallsThis adds to the quirky charm. The staff were extremely helpful in recommending both places to visit and to eat and went to considerable trouble to find out travel arrangements - e.g. train/ bus times.
