"A Gem"
A rustic gem away from the bustle of the town. Having just stayed in three city centre hotels this was like a rest cure. Superb Patron (Stefan) and lovely staff. Recommend to all.

"Great location in centre of town. "
We arrived at Avignon Central station and strolled the 800m to the hotel visiting the Tourist Information Office on the way. The hotel is located just off the main square in Avignon therefore provides easy walking access to all attractions. The main square houses several restaurants all within 2 minutes walk.

"Great hotel"
We found this hotel to be of a very good standard. The only thing was if you wanted a drink you had to ask at the reception because the Bar was not manned.

6 Route de Lyon, Avignon - Map
"Great location and value"
The staff were very nice. The service was excellent. The location was very good as we could walk everywhere. There is a grocery store next door so you could get everything you needed close by. The room is spartan though and would have been claustrophobic if we had not had a terrace.

Hôtel de Garlande

20 Rue Galante, Avignon - Map
"Comfortable hotel in the heart of the old town"
Very clean, comfortable hotel, friendly owners as were also their friends who were managing it for our first few days. Delicious breakfast with lots of fruit and homemade yogurt and cakes. Good restaurants nearby. Our only negative comment would be the intermittent wifi which made receiving and sending emails and accessing information difficult. But hopefully the hotel will install a better system. The cleanliness of the rooms and shower room was outstanding and the housekeeping staff were lovely. Avignon is an interesting town on the Eurostar route direct from St Pancras and has a wonderful train service connecting with many other towns of interest such as Nimes, Arles, Marseille, Montpellier. The narrow streets with their beautiful architecture, blue grey paintwork and lovely stone are a joy to wander and explore. There's an excellent daily market and very good small shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Staff was immediately welcoming and friendly and we were able to check in before noon upon our arrival. Vibe is relaxed, calm and is a lovely little oasis within Avignon.

7 Place Du Chapitre, Villeneuve-les-Avignon - Map
"Beautiful Retreat in Provence"
I was surprised at how fabulous this hotel was, since some of the Trip Advisor reviews seemed tepid. It is beautiful, run at a five star level, and is representative of Provence. The hotel has a very expensive place for dinner, but I found the menu to not be to my liking, so I didn't try it. But there are tons of sweet little good restaurants in the town within easy walking distance. The hotel does serve lovely breakfasts on the patio which I will remember for their relaxed breezy atmosphere. We stayed in the old part of the hotel in a "tower" room that had windows facing two directions and it was exquisite. It also was very hot and the air conditioner was splendid. The bed and linens were excellent. I will definitely return.

Avignon Grand Hotel

34 Boulevard Saint Roch, Avignon - Map
"A good hotel with very spacious rooms"
Just round the corner from the central station and across the road from the city walls, the hotel is just 15 mins walk from the heart of Avignon. Suited us perfectly. Good breakfast; did not eat any other meals there. Staff very helpful with information but never any bar staff - and no red wine one evening!
