We came to Vancouver to celebrate our son’s 13th birthday/ summer vaca. We were planning on staying at a different hotel but I am so glad we didn’t. L’Hermitage is an amazing hotel with amazing staff. From the minute you walk in to the time you check out their service is exceptional and the cleanliness is top notch. We had a room that had a private balcony and the view at night was nice. If you’re hesitating about choosing this hotel over any other hotel in downtown Vancouver, I would choose this one over and over again.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. Close to shops. We asked to have a late check out because we were waiting to embark on a cruise, but were told no. We only wanted to stay 2 hours later, but they could not accommodate us. Not happy. There was no porter to help with our cases when we checked in. The bed was too soft - I had a sore back the next morning. Shower was way too small, considering the size of the bathroom. There is not much choice with the tv channels. Have to pay to watch movies. Kettle is far too small. There are only 2 tea bags.

Our room was exceptional, as was the staff–so courteous and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. We were tired from our trip and decided to eat at the restaurant in the hotel and our dinners were also very good. Our waitress was a Vietnamese student and as sweet as they come! If you want to walk to the port and can manage your luggage it is also doable. It's a downhill walk too, which makes it easier. We were threatened with rain on our day to leave, so the frontdesk had a taxi waiting for us when we checked out. So glad we picked this for our overnight stay before our cruise and highly recommend this hotel.
