Luxury hotel in a perfect spot

Posted 25-Sep-2016
Cons: Service in the bar and restaurant was slow and food not brilliant, although staff friendly.
Friendly staff, lovely room and great facilities. Granville Island itself is a fabulous place to base yourself and the hotel is in easy reach of everything. Reception staff were really helpful, particularly pre check in (I arrived very early) and post check out (I didn't leave until early evening, going that extra mile.

Quaint hotel, Grandville Island Hotel.

Posted 21-Sep-2016
Pros: A comfortable room and nice and helpful staff. Nice view by the river, water homes, and boats.
Cons: What's to improve on such a wonderful hotel.
Location: We take public transportation while visiting and traveling to other cities, Grandville Island was an easy central location to get around Vancouver
I can't express enough how wonderful this quaint hotel is. Great location (by the river) near the Farmers Market, lots of cute artistry shops, and near public transportation.

Granville Island's best.

Posted 20-Sep-2016
Pros: Great location and luxury rating class for cost.
Location: Conveniently located on Granville Island, between Vancouver proper, and downtown. The Marketplace has several shops and things for entertainment.
Conveniently located in the heart of the Marketplace on Granville Island, the Granville Island Hotel is a smart choice given it's grade of luxury for the cost. The staff was extremely helpful and eager to assist in making for a pleasant stay. You must also try their restaurant for dinner!

Lovely waterside setting - restaurant staff - poor

Posted 18-Sep-2016
Pros: setting by the water, well appointed and kept rooms, helpful front desk, nice food
Cons: Management of restaurant is poor - diners expected to stand in line until waiting staff are "ready" and tables set up - easier to serve big parties
Location: Lots of tourist things to do and places to eat on Granville Island, little ferry boats are fun and frequent, even buses are OK. Don't drive - parking?
Great to have comfortable low rise room with great views in heart of Vancouver. Management of restaurant more interested in large scale conferences, weddings etc than individual travellers. Facilities closed, service poorly managed - we wanted to have a drink on the deck at 7pm on Sunday - expected to wait in line until someone could be found to show us to a seat (plenty empty). Bar was taken over by a large party - 3 staff doing nothing except standing in line to stop entry to the bar. No we did not have a reservation - we said were are resident in one of their better rooms. The seater could not take a drinks order - even for their brewed in house beer, waiting staff spent their time clearing tables - we walked out after waiting 5 mins. The "organiser" apologised and said she could get us beers immediately - 10 mins earlier that would have been great, but not after previous charade

on interesting island/peninsula

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: quiet, clean, close to other venues, reasonable price, nice having spa/workout facility
Cons: more reasonable room service and dining prices
Location: see above
close to other venues-quiet-service fine, but front desk people could be more knowledgeable about vancouver, particularly about public transportation

Relaxing and comfortable

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: location, and the hotel itself is interesting to walk around
Location: The hotel is within walking distance of everything you want to do on the island. There is a wonderful market that is open year round.
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel, we gather here every year in Sept. to take classes at nearby Maiwa, Always have a good stay and Sept. usually has the best weather. The staff are usually most helpful and the rooms mostly pleasing. Try not to get a room facing the parking lot, can get noisy.

Lovely hotel convenient location

Posted 15-Sep-2016
Great hotel. Very comfortable. Staff was courteous, friendly, helpful all the way. Comfortable beds, clean room. Only complaint is that it's hard to control room temp-you must choose heat or cool-no option for both. Our weather was very changeable between day and night and we were often too cold or warm.
