Location is key

Posted 8-Dec-2017
The only reason I would go back is because they have a monopoly on location. Room was small, mattress was worn out, the hotel and service was average.

The only hotel on the island

Posted 23-Nov-2017
Pros: It's position
Location: See above
I found this a great base in Vancouver, reasonably close by taxi to the railway, airport and other places of interest. The Granville Island precinct had more than enough to keep me amused for a couple of days, and other places weren't far away. The water bus companies operating between the island and other points up and down the False Creek inlet are a good way to get around. With the fresh food market and associated food stalls nearby to the hotel, finding provisions was not a problem, and there are good restaurants as well. Off the Island, I had very interesting visits to the Museum of Anthropology at the university (UBC), a taxi ride, and at the art gallery, downtown, from where I returned by walking and by water bus..

IF I HAD KNOWN...I WOULD HAVE STAYED LONGER!

Posted 30-Oct-2017
Pros: I LOVED: 1)the staff 2)the bed and amazing pillows 3)the view (the island in general) 4)the food 5)the health spa
Cons: Maybe add a clock or sand timer in the sauna to help people keep track of the time they spend in it. I was confused by the electronic timer outside.
Location: THE LOCATION IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The island is magical, I loved the public market, the shore with the boats, the nature, being able to walk!!!
I was there for a night (an express trip) for a pole dance competition happening right next to the hotel at the Waterfront theater. I arrived, my room was ready (early) and the staff was super sweet and welcoming. They gave me lots of great recommendations about what to do on the island (knowing I had a short amount of time) and made me feel so welcome in Vancouver! In that moment, I wished I had planned on staying longer in the hotel, island and in general Vancouver! However, I had a problem... The next day I had to check out at 11 am, but my competition was until 5 pm, which meant I would not be able to shower before taking a 5h plane ride home! I was worried about that, so asked if there would be any chance I could shower before leaving Vancouver after my competition. They allowed me to shower in the health spa past my check out time; I was so grateful!!! To add to my great experience: the bed was AMAZING (I loved the giant pillows), the room was so cute and clean! I had an AMAZING VIEW from my window (I could see boats and the water surrounding us)! I also tried the food in the hotel... DELICIOUS (they have vegetarian and vegan options), but as someone who was about to compete, I found the healthiest menu I could dream off. Finally, THE VIEW, from the restaurants are mind blowing!!! What an amazing stay!!! I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends traveling to Vancouver, the Granville hotel and Island are MAGICAL.

This is a great hotel , away from the bustle of the city but it's still easily accessible , in a really interesting location , make sure you leave yourself to see all that the island has to offer

City sleepover at a beautiful setting.

Loved the hotel which was quiet and located on the water. Wonderful restaurant and excellent staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Stroll through Granville Island Market and enjoy the Sandbar upscale restaurant. Would recommend this hotel absolutely.
