"Pleasantly surprised"
After booking, i read some negative reviews and was more than a little leery. However, upon arrival i was surprised. The front desk were exceptional, and friendly and knowledgeable. The room was VERY clean. The bed and linens were VERY comfy. The room and ceiling looked like it had a fresh coat of paint this year. The bathroom was very clean including tub toilet and tile. Even tho an older hotel, it is quaint and definitely part of the charm.

Overall the hotel is a better value than staying downtown. The skytrain is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the Metropolis mall was right across the street. We used our all day metro passes to visit all the tourist attractions.

"Very nice hotel"
Stayed one night at this hotel before flying home. It is close to the airport, has a good shuttle, was clean and comfortable and had a nice choice of restaurants on the campus. The rate was good, a sale price through Expedia.

"King bed top floor 9 night stay"
Overall v good. Cleanliness of the room was excellent but there were things that did not sit well with the official rating of the hotel and with the premium room we had booked. This included quite old towels and bathroom linen, bumper pump action packs of shampoo etc (surely the preserve of budget hotels? ) and late servicing of the room on a number of days ( hotel policy apparently is that it's ok up to 5 pm ???? Which we found particularly surprising for a premium rate suite) . Further there were a number of things that smacked of cost cutting rather than anything to do with the environment. For instance we were offered the ' opportunity' to have reduced servicing of the room (every 3 days instead of daily) in exchange for an unspecified credit in the restaurant. On enquiry this seemed to mean NO servicing of the room including bed making and replenishment of coffee, tea etc. apparently more coffee would be sent up on request. . again we were very puzzled that the hotel would think soMe one prepared to pay for a premium rate room where the advantage is usually a higher quality of servicing would want to trade in the very thing they were paying for, for credit in a very ordinary catering etablishment. The restaurant was ok but nothing to write home about. Only order the Poutine if you like chips and gravy.

The general manager was great. He always has customer service in mind. Just based on his performance, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, the location is within walking distance to beaches and lots of restaurants. The rooms are spacious and fit 6 comfortably.
