Just one night this time.
We were there for a medical appointment. It was great to be able to sign out and leave the car and luggage there for four or five hours while we took the taxi to the hospital. Having indoor access to the mall was great for my wife since she can’t walk very far. It was fun to be able to look at the shops and get what we needed and a couple of extras. I needed an extension cord for plugging in medical equipment and Housekeeping brought me one right away. It is an older hotel but it was very comfortable and the staff was excellent and so helpful.

Hotel has not been updated
Very tired hotel that has not been updated in at least 10 years. For the price, other hotels are a better option.

I chose this hotel because it was close to English Bay. It's well placed on Denman St., a 5 min walk to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby. Plus, lots of Vancouver downtown is also within walking distance. Although the location is central, it's tucked nicely away on a quiet street. Hotel staff were pleasant and friendly. They were able to accommodate an early check-in with good humour and ease. My room had nice big windows with a little balcony, which was great. The main drawback to the hotel is the quality of the building and facilities. The hotel could use a major facelift. It shows its age along with wear and tear. Wallpaper is peeling; bathroom hasn't been upgraded since the 1980s. The room itself felt like a dorm room. Internet is poor; many amenities (such as the hair dryer and fridge) are of the lowest quality.

There is a nasty smell permeating the floor and room. Floor 20. The room itself was dirty with stains in the carpet everywhere. The pillow was clumpy and very uncomfortable. I did not sleep well. Bathroom had dirty tiles. Hotel staff has rude tone. Only good thing was view.

I'd recommend it only because of the discounted price I got for the days I was staying. At regular room rates I don't think I would. Their are better options further out of downtown. I was given an 'upgrade' which was very unexpected and nice but I think their might have only been 17 people staying in the hotel... Service was excellent, rooms were small, view was great, lifts were confusing.

Fantastic views and great location
Very nice view, room was clean and in good shape. A little dated, but not bad. Great convenient location foram - Stanley Park and this part of Vancouver. The only complaint is the parking. Parking pm"is difficult for all in this area, so free parking would be more appreciated than a 25 per day extra charge. Was lucky enough top find free parking every night. Look for the signs that say "2 HR parking from 9am - 8PM" (or 9am -10 pm) then park there overnight. You wont have to move the car until 11 am and not at all on Sundays. There is also a 8 dollar overnight parking 2 blocks away. The reception desk clerk did not tell me anything about this lot, she only said "maybe you will be lucky to find some parking, let us know if you need the 25 parking here"... well, I was lucky with parking every night! There seems to be very few parking meter checkers, as I only saw one the whole time, and he was on foot, and there is an overwhelming amount of ground to cover, so unless you are downtown or on a super busy main street, the possibility of actually getting a ticket is pretty small. Oh and the free wifi sucks, just like every other hotel that offers free wifi. Don't bother connecting, cellular data was much faster. The wifi was so slow and dropped so often it was worthless.

Old downtown hotel. Would not recommend.
The hotel is very old. Not so clean especially hallways and amenities. Bad lighting in the room and nothing in the fridge to buy. No water. The room was expensive (with the view) had a low ceiling, old furniture and even the bed sheets were old. Clean though. The only good thing about this place is that is close to downtown with easy access to everything. Parking is $25 per day. Staff was nice but not welcoming. More like "'hello' but I have to say this". Overall very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend.

the worst part was a mouse scurrying around the restaurant at dinner time. On top of the hotel being aged, the mouse heightened the feeling of it being dirty as well. The staff though, were over the top awesome!

Not recommended
We stayed 2 nights and the person who cleaned our room smoked on our balcony - the scent of cigarettes was very obvious when we came into our room on the second day. The hotel seems very old and dated and not well kept. The WiFi signal was absolutely terrible. On the 22nd floor, we barely had WiFi connection and it was very slow/laggy.

Nice hotel in a quiet neigbourghood
Though not close to where I had business (which was at the Vancouver Convention Centre), I was pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the hotel and its quiet neighborhood. The room was nice and roomy (though not modern). It had a beautiful view of the downtown (I was on the 32nd floor and the room had a balcony/patio door). The mattress was really comfy... The staff was friendly and available very early in the morning to answer my questions. Overall, I liked the hotel and would recommend it to my friends and colleagues.

A let down, never again.
Was under the impression my suite would be facing the waters of Vancouver, as I took the time to check dozens of hotels with scenery for my Brother in laws bachelor party, passed on alot of cheaper suites in higher end hotels just for the scenery. The moment I walked in made me feel like I was in a cheap motel on the 22nd floor. Approached a management about the issue, and they said it wasn't their fault, but said if there was a room available they'd give me one, but apparently wasn't. Didn't offer anything other than that. Place is broken down looking like the 1970s. Never again, and don't recommend it. Only thing good was that it a centralish to where we'd spent the night on the town.

Nice location with great view
We arrived at the hotel late in the night, so it was nice to be checked in quick with friendly attitude. The room had gorgeous night view of downtown. It was so beautiful that we slept with our curtains opened. It is on Denman street filled with small shops and restaurants. Easy access to Robson St. and English Bay area. Got coupons from Concierge for rental cycle right by English Bay to cycle around Stanley Park. Since we didn't have to go through downtown on bicycles, it was very safe and easy access to the park. This hotel had a big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. It's nice to have a big bottles instead of tiny bottles for one time usage.

Nice hotel, good central location
Nice hotel in a location where you can walk to many attractions in the Vancouver area; nice restaurant reasonably priced; we had a suite with full service kitchen and separate living room that was reasonably priced and nice for a family; full grocery store, drug store and liquor store a few minutes walk from hotel - very handy; hotel very quiet and comfortable beds; staff very pleasant and helpful with suggestions and getting tickets to local attractions; hotel is clean - only negative comment is the décor is tired and old; needs updating.

Good location
We had to book a last minute hotel in vancouver after the one we booked online (Hotel Patricia in East Hastings) turned out to essentially be a crack den. The only room available was at the Coast Plaza; unfortunately this meant the room was exceptionally expensive. We were on the 34th floor so we had fantastic views over the city, but the balcony looked a bit worse for wear, and I was slightly nervous about some of the cracks in the plaster. After a few nights I settled in though, and the bathroom and room itself were very clean - housekeeping came every day and we also got complimentary bottles of water and chocolates. The staff were very helpful and offered advice on places to go and what to see. My only major gripe was the Brasserie that served breakfast. There was a baby rat running about the restaurant floor, which completely put me off my pancakes. The staff were sympathetic though and we got the meal free of charge - but still - not what you want to see while tucking in to your toast.

DO NOT STAY HERE
We booked this hotel last year & had a great experience (good room, clean, great staff, etc.) This year, going through Vancouver again, we went to the same place. This year, our room was in awful repair (things were falling apart, the toilet didn't work properly, the shower was barely working, and hot water wasn't always available). The room hadn't been renovated since the early 80's and the beds were uncomfortable. When I complained at the desk the next morning, I was informed the hotel had been sold & they were doing no updates or upgrades. Then, they told me there was nothing they could do because my room was prepaid. My advice, steer clear! Find another hotel in Vancouver. This one is AWFUL!!

Great location
I would surely recommend this hotel for the location. We were able to walk to a myriad of places including the bay, aquarium, Stanley park and the numerous restaurants around the area. However, quality/price definitely is unbalanced. For the price, the room was not extremely spacious, neither was the bathroom. Nonetheless, the room and the entire facility scream for renovation. We appreciated the complementary coffee and absolutely loved their soaps. We were located at floor 31: view was amazing but I would call it city view more than water front view. Overall, the room was clean but there was a forgotten paper cup with water and cigarettes in the balcony. On a side note, the portable ac/heater was extremely tedious: lots of noises. We had to turn it off in order to sleep. Kudos to the staff because everyone was extremely kind and courteous!

The hotel is in a great spot close to most things. But it's very expensive for what you get. Vancouver is expensive right now but the rooms are dated. They don't inspire confidence in cleanliness. The hotel is run down. I stayed here a few years ago and it was dated but clean back then. It looks like they've done nothing to it since.

Tired and in need of revitalization.
The hotel was ok. The appearance of the hotel is tired, dated and a little dirty. Some sort of investment will need to be made to modernize and correct a lot of maintenance which is obviously being overlooked. My room was nice and had an incredible view. Unfortunately it was right next to the housekeepers area which meant constant door slamming and work related noise. Overall the hotel is just ok. If I had a choice, for the price I paid, I would not stay there again.
