Beds were comfortable and the sitting area was nice for lounging. Accessing the apartment in the back made it feel more private and secluded. Things to note: if you are noise sensitive, because this is a basement apartment the HVAC system is tucked to the side of the bathroom which was constantly running so the noise from that running was loud. The fan over the stove was running and could not be turned off so consistently hearing that fan running. One night there was a dog on the premises, not sure if it was the owners dog or if there is another room rented out, but the dog on and off whined and barked throughout the night waking me and my daughter up several times. The property is an easy drive to the dunes, however it’s 19 minutes to the visitor center and 30 minutes to get to the beaches, not 12 minutes as stated in the listing. Highly recommend eating at Lincoln Flats for dinner. We came here with our 2.5 year old and 5 month old and there was a lot of stuff to do. Just wish we could’ve stayed for a couple more days to fit more into our trip. The communication was great with the host and the neighborhood was very quiet and safe for families. The only thing we rated less than 5-stars was the water had a sulfur odor, but we chalked that up to irregular use of the pipes with it being a vacation rental. We bought bottled water and it wasn’t a huge issue. The place was clean and beds were comfy. Wal Mart was close by to stock up on groceries and the grill and kitchen were great. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re wanting to see the Dunes and Michigan City. ##### Rebecca C.
