The way to get to the place is dirt, you have to be very cautious and slow. They did not respect the reservation of a double room and they gave me a single, they commented that they had problems with Expedia / Oyo, which I do not agree with being the one affected and even so they did not offer any refund for changing rooms or a note of having paid in the place (they only accept cash and they wanted to charge me more than the reservation). The place in general needs cleaning in the common areas and in the room we found several cobwebs and spiders among other insects (we had to buy insecticide). The place does not have drinks for sale or anything else (it comes with breakfast, of course not for us due to the reservation via Expedia/Oyo), the closest store is 20 minutes road from the place, I recommend taking everything you need to go out as less as possible since the dirt road is not a place you want to drive frequent with your car and have possible damage. They offer grills but I do not recommend it, the bees and flies would not leave you alone! In conclusion, if you are a person used to this environment or are looking for a totally different experience from day to day, this place is for you! For me, I will not return.

Please do NOT reserve in this place. They cancelled our reservation 1 hour before our check-in. We arrived to the La ruta del Vino with 4 kids (we have reserved 3 rooms) and they call us to let us know that they want us to cancel the reservation because of the "contingency". We expended almost the next 5 hours driving throughout the mountains trying to find a hotel!!!!!!!The weird part is that everything (all hotels) were booked due to 4th of July WEEKEND, and this place was the "ONLY" place that allegedly were force to cancel THE reservation. WE FOUND VERY SUSPICIOUS BECAUSE WE RESERVED AT A NORMAL PRICE/ RATE (not cheap) just normal. At the end we were able to find one room for 3 families!!!!!!!! and paid 3 times more due to this unprofessional people that have no consideration nor respect for human being !!!!!! be very careful if you feel attractive to reserve with this people.

Way out of the way on a bumpy dirt road. Run down place. Asked for extra bed and said she would look into it. No response. Told coffee and fruit at 7am. Got up at 6 so we could get coffee and fruit before we hit the road. When left at 8am still no coffee or fruit. Why did she say it would be ready at 7am????

Location is very rustic overall. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you are looking for 5 star hotel, this is not for you. If you want a rustic, clean and quiet location, this is for you. Staff was very nice and friendly. Definitely would come back in the future.

It was so bad there, we canceled our reservation the minute we walked in. Frogs in the bathroom, in the toilet. No water, No electricity!! Dirt all over the place. First of all, the location was not the location provided at the Expedia page (and we chose that place precisely because of the location showed on the map!! ). It was located 2km further and on a dirt road, that was hard to get in a low height car. And of course, that made the time to get there and our party location to be longer. The lady there said they don't have power during the day, and they turn on the generator just at night time. So, no lights, no fans (onna hot day). Restroom without hand soap, rooms with several spiders. We asked to get the generator on because we had a wedding and we needed to get ready. On Expedia description of the place, it doesn't state there's no power, and the way to get there is through a 2km dirt road. The description and pictures are misleading. We didn't slept there, and decided to look for a different place.

Here is my review/experience of Casa Encinares: Pros: * Exotic Setting * Nice Pool * Includes Breakfast outside under the encinare trees. * Shows promise if it had more dedication and investment. Cons: * Too expensive for what you receive (I paid $140) * Too far from the main road, you must drive a winding, rocky road to arrive. * Needs additional staff / Seems like there was only 1 person attending the front desk, making breakfast, and acting as concierge. * Needs cleanliness - found a small frog in our bathroom, insects along windows. * Electricity seems to fail frequently, they need to resort to a generator consistently. * No A/C, No TV

When I Initially arrived at the property I was disappointed. You have to travel 2k through a dirt road. At first it seems as if your never going to arrive to your destination. When I finally arrived the place looked lonely and abandoned. But once on the property a friendly person named Jessica treated us exceptionally great. She saw I was discontent at first glance, Jessica immediately showed us to our room which by the way was beautiful with a rustic feel. Next she turned on all the lights in the property which changed the way it looked initially. We were the only guests that first night which scared me a little because this place is far from everything. There’s no WiFi no tv. Breakfast is prepared fresh in the morning because this place has no fridge. Jessica and her boss Victor quickly accommodated themselves to us. The place was beautiful with trees everywhere. I absolutely fell in love with this cozy friendly place. The food is absolutely the best homemade Mexican meal ever. The beds are very comfortable. Above all the customer service was exceptional. We were treated as friends not customers.

Leaky bathroom and dirt narrow roads.
Expect dirt roads to get to this place. This place a not a hotel is more like a Bed and Breakfast. The building it self is old. Our bathroom was leaking water. The breakfast was delicious.

The property is for nature loving people and you have to be in that frame of mind. There's nothing wrong with nature loving but that's not what we had in mind at Valle de Guadalupe. The road partially flooded. Almost two miles dirt road to get there. No heating, no AC, no TV, no Wi-Fi. The staff was pleasent and understanding. We didn't stay. I'm hoping for a refund from Expedkia.

This place is so far down rutted Mexican dirt roads that we almost turned around. No AC, the ceiling fan would not work without the light on at the same time, one little window in the front of the room and one little window in the bathroom. Almost no water pressure, and the water pressure pump on the outside was just below deafening. Starts at 8:30 AM. Staff was very friendly, and the breakfast outside in the morning was very nice. The flies, however made it very hard to enjoy it. No, we will not return.

Place didn’t get cleaned while we were there. They didn’t provide any trash bags or toiletries not even hand soap for bathroom. We didn’t have electricity for half the day and we didn’t have water on Monday morning to clean up or flush toilets. Pictures are not updated. There were no chimney like the pictures describe it. Staff was friendly but didn’t provide the services needed. I would not recommend it or be staying here again. Over priced, and understaffed.

Overpriced and under delivered. Don’t stay there
Unfortunately we really wanted to like this place but it was impossible. The rooms were freezing. One electrical outlet. Very thin comforters. Bathroom adequate but was not cleaned the whole time we were there. Only one stack of firewood for two days And a fireplace in the room was the only source of heat. Lighting Was inadequate. Restaurant was closed so we had to drive down a very poor road to try and find food. Breakfast was good but not included in our cost.They did not accept credit cards so we were hit with a lot higher bill them was expected and had to pay cash on our last day - two nights for a family of four with one dog cost is US$340. We will not stay there again.

Nice and quiet hotel in the Guadalupe Valley. Confortable and the staff (Juan and Jessica) great hosts!! Just a little difficult to arrive at night, the indications are easier at daylight and very difficult to see at night. and in room 5 the water goes away at any moment

This place was far away from everything...
The place was very far, hard to find, and of poor conditions. We turned around and left after seeing the room. We tried to cancel to get a refund, but it was very difficult to do so; couldn't reach the site, etc. We lost the entire amount paid for the two nights. Very bad experience :/

Quaint hotel but needs to be updated
The rooms are very old and dusty, they could use some updating, especially their sheets and towels. Our first room smelled like sewage but after we complained they were able to switch rooms. The road to the hotel is also very hard to drive on, especially at night, its unpaved and it’s very bumpy. Their breakfast is very tasty and was the only thing I enjoyed about this hotel.

Best experience ever!
Amazing and beautiful place. Where you go to unwind and unplug from the world. I never got into wine tasting or wine tours before. This trip changed all that. Wonderful experience! Owner Arturo is the most gracious and wonderful host I have ever seen. Only topped by Michael the most incredible tour guide ever! You will not be disappointed! The food was to die for! We swam in the pool,stated at the stars and it was like going to the wine fields in Italy. The perfect getaway imaginable!

we are usually not picky about our hotels, and always had great experiences with ORBITZ. This stay was just a horrible experience. I woke up with ants on my body, told them and the only thing they did was just to shake it off, they didnt even changed the covers or the blankets. Bathroom NOT clean. One day they did not do the cleaning and the next day we had to ask for it. The mop had this horrible smell so after cleaning the room smelled horrible. The towels all ripped up and with stains as wells as the blankets and the bed cover. They turned off the electricity during the day, did not know that we had to ask for them to turn it on until the last day. OVERALL BAD EXPERIENCE. This was a very rural hotel that the service was very bad and should not listed in ORBITZ

Search this place before you book!
This place is pretty far...it's not close to the road. You have to drive about 20 minutes from the main road to get to this place. I would describe this place like a "camping place" the restroom from the room was not that clean it had mold it was not pleasant. It needs to be more clean overall. When I saw the pictures from the hotel i thought it was sort of vintage but CLEAN! The surrounding is very quiet. I don't think I'll be back. I think the price is not worth it, it should be cheaper for what is offers. Just be aware that it does not look like it looks in the pictures. I preferred staying in Puerto Nuevo. If you are looking to stay in Valle de Guadalupe see other options. I do recommend a Winery called ATP & Fam that is close by. The wine is very good.

This place was great! I would definitely return. The owner Arturo is very on point with communication. The place is quiet and cozy. You definitely get the feel that you are on a cabin style ranch in Mexico. That is the authentic great thing about it. There is no wifi, no Tv, but we didn't mind at all. Arturo was able to organize a wine tour chauffeur service for $130 For 8 hours which was great because you don't want to drink and drive. We were driven to 5 different wineries. Wine was not included in the service, this is just a car service. But the wineries pricing is very affordable.

Extremely dog friendly! The owner Arturo was an excellent host and served us an Incredible breakfast and dinner. The ranch is rustic and although it was too cool to swim the pool looked pristine.

This place is a fraud!!! They stole my money
I had reservation and drove to Mexico. Got to the road leading to the hotel and the ride was terrible. My car got stuck in mud on the way to the hotel and was never able to make it there. I tried getting a full refund and the hotel lied and stated I had checked in and left so I can only get a partial refund. I never even got to make it to the hotel due to their entry road. They are liars and frauds at this hotel. Please don't make any reservations here.

Basic comfortable but far from main road
We arrive to Casa Encinares about 8 o'clock at night. I did (check for)the email they sent me that required me total inform them of my check in time and a $200 peso deposit for the key. They didn't charge us, but orbitz should put this info on hotel description. We were not aware that B&B was at the end of an approximately 2 mile road filled with ruts and puddles. Also two road-width mud puddles we were almost unable to get around. If my friends did not have GPS we would have been lost. The restaurant was closed when we arrived (before 8 p.m.) and we had to go all the way back down that road to find food. Luckily there was a girl awake and she handed us a key and showed us to our room. After a day of wine tasting, we wanted to enjoy a bottle, but there was no wine key in the room. My friend asked the host and she said someone had taken the only one key and not brought it back. This is so typical of Mexico and also ridiculous for a hotel in wine country to not have a wine key in every room, or at least one readily available for guests to use!! In the morning we went to have breakfast. We were told to help ourself to coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. We sat down and we're brought a hefty helping of potatoes, eggs and ham. Other guests were served fruit before their meals but we were not. (???) The property is surrounded by other what looks like personal ranches but no clear defining area of where they end or begin. It says there is a winery on site but we did not see it

Beautiful getaway in the middle of nature
This place was amazing!!!!!! I do want to start off that you must use google maps to find the exact location. Other maps will get you to a different destination and that can be a little frustrating. But anyways, when arriving to our room a beautiful fire place with candle lights was available, their beds are therapeutic, and their showers are good in pressure. We were going for only one night and decided to stay another night because it was such a beautiful atmosphere. The breakfast is freshly made and Jessica and Don Juan are super awesome!!!!
