Bush block and ocean! A winner- trees, wildlife and the sound of the ocean!

What more could you want? A stunning environmentally designed solar passive home in a bush setting; fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, hear the kookaburras, see the visiting kangaroos, echidna, goannas, parrots and tawny frogmouths from the large wraparound deck. Always a place in the shade or the sun to sit, relax, read a book or drink a favourite tipple. Three ample sized queen bedrooms with comfortable mattresses, one with an ensuite and separate entrance, the two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom with a large walk in shower and a bath. The house makes an ideal location for grown up gatherings, family meet ups or a quiet wind-down from urban life. Our house is not really ideal for young toddlers due to the steep steps and glass doors, also parents please note there are only queen sized beds.
A beautiful kitchen with ample amenities, large fridge, dishwasher, induction cooktop and fan oven to cook or use the Beefeater barbeque on the deck. Two nature trails lead through the bush down to Deep Creek estuary and the beach, a haven for swimmers, sunbathers and fisherfolk ( just five minutes walk from the house).
The house uses tank water but there is a drinking water spigot in the kitchen for town water.
Wash off salt and sand in an outside shower downstairs.

Fabulous Hideaway in Valla Beach

We loved our stay...it was perfect for what we needed. Loved being surrounded by bush...and only a short stroll to the beach. Loved the fireplace for those chilly nights.

Cut short due to weather sadly

I’ve seen reviews that comment about the property’s unkempt garden but its nature, its natural and I saw the animals roaming through, I loved it. The property was perfect. The only downside was that it felt a bit damp inside the property but that is a culmination of living by the ocean, the weather and the nature in the backyard. Everything we needed locally. Nourish cafe is beautiful. Unfortunately the rain bomb drove us out a day early as we had a long drive back to the Sunshine Coast. (Took nearly 9 hours!) Would I come back. Yes. Definately.

A special house full of character

A large and spacious house, amazing location, 5 minutes from the sea, the backyard right in the woods, we even saw kangaroos passing through the yard. It has a fully equipped kitchen, spacious rooms and living room and pleasant design. One thing that bothered us a bit, there is a separate unit downstairs near the backyard, which is completely separate from the house. The entrance to it is through the garage, it feels a little uncomfortable to open the room door straight to the garage. Beyond that, the lower yard is a bit neglected, it looks like it hasn't been taken care of for a very long time. But despite that, we would definitely recommend this special place.

Just great! - Einfach super!

Das Haus von Meryl und Graeme befindet sich in der Nähe eines wunderschönen Strandes zum Meer in einer von kleinen Häusern geprägten Sackgasse. Die Nachbarschaft ist ruhig und freundlich. Vom Haus aus fährt man recht schnell in den in der Nähe liegenden Ort Nambucca Heads, wo es unter anderem einen gut sortierten Woolworths gibt. Das Haus von Meryl und Graeme war sehr sauber, es ist recht geräumig, es hat eine optimale Raumaufteilung mit einem Wohnzimmer, das zusammen mit der Küche eine Einheit bildet. Alle Räume im Haus haben Fenster nach aussen. Die schöne und weite Terrasse lädt zum draussen Verweilen und Grillieren auf dem grossen BBQ ein. Begeistert hat uns vor allem die Helligkeit und Luftigkeit des Wohnzimmers. Die auf Home Away gezeigten Fotos sind wahr und täuschen nichts vor. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse geht auf einen viel Ruhe ausstrahlenden Wald, wo immer mal wieder Kängurus auf Besuch kommen. Der muntere Gesang der Vögel begleitete uns durch den Tag. Die Einrichtung ist sehr vollständig. Nichts fehlt. Alle Haushaltsgeräte funktionierten einwandfrei. Der Bestand an Wäsche war vollständig und auch Toilettenartikel waren ausreichend vorhanden. Die Antwortzeit von Meryl und Graeme auf Fragen war immer sehr schnell und kompetent. Es war ihnen ein Anliegen, dass wir uns in ihrem Haus wohlfühlen. Wir können das Haus und den Ort ohne die geringsten Vorbehalte weiterempfehlen. Wir hoffen, dass wir wieder zurückkehren können. Vielen Dank an Meryl und Graeme für die Gastfreundschaft in ihrem schmucken Haus.

Overall stay was enjoyable!

Our stay was enjoyable. We loved the bush and beach experience with the animals around us. Although the room down stairs was great but the ventilation was not so good. The smell of the paint fumes was a little overbearing at times. But other than that we couldn’t fault it. Lovely property to stay at. The wood heater was beautiful too. ☺️

Wonderful bush setting in a beautiful house.

We had a lovely time staying here. The house is beautifully designed, with everything you might need, and lots of lovely little touches. The setting is amazing, overlooking bushland home to an array of creatures. Kangaroos were regular visitors, and there are apparently also echidnas, goannas and birds. The beach is a short walk through the nature reserve, and the beach itself is amazing. We would definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and charming break.

So relaxing

My family enjoyed a lovely two days in this beautiful home in a wonderful bush setting. The home is very well presented with everything you could want. It’s a very comfortable passive solar home. Every detail has been considered and catered for including books games crockery cutlery (even for babies) and excellent cooking supplies. There is a pumice stone in the bathroom too.

wonderful property in a beautiful location

The majority of the property was excellent. The only significant difficulties were that the 3rd bedroom was cold with no options for heating; it was also adjacent to the garage where paint was stored and the smell was both unpleasant and irritating (to the airways).
