1/5 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
This place could be so lovely--gorgeous spot and the building has character. Except there is zero maintenance on it. Room had broken electrical fixtures hanging by wires above beds and other areas had exposed wires. The room was disgusting--there was hair clogging the bathtub, body hair (chest or possibly pubic) in the bed sheets. There were oil stains on the sheets which I highly doubt were even washed. It appeared the sheets only get washed if absolutely necessary. The same was true of the nearly non-existent towels. They no longer do a breakfast or dinner service but instead allow guests to use the common area kitchen, which sounds nice in theory except that means if you want to use it you have to wash all the filthy dishes that other guests leave lying around pretty much everywhere. After 20 minutes we turned around and left. This is a place that was probably really nice several years ago but has become a dump and the owners do not seem to care one way or another. The pictures of the outside are charming but I would stay far far away.

Authentic Canadian Lodge Experience
Great spot. Rustic. Authentic. A true lodge experience. Wonderful setting. Clean and well kept. Beautiful idyllic lake at the back. A private Shangri-la. I recommend it. The area is full of quaint restaurants and craft micro brews and the longest veritical park in Canada. Bring your bike ! Bring your canoe! You won't be disappointed. A very Canadian experience for those coming from abroad.
