Wonderful Location, Facility and Staff

Posted 16-Aug-2017
Cons: No improvements necessary.
Keep this one secret or recommend it to all your friends. The hotel is central in Vail Village right on Gore creek. Hotel has it all including nice bar and restaurant. Hotel and room were clean and appointed well. Staff were helpful for all requests. Best part of our vacation to Colorado was at this hotel.

Great location in Center Village of Vail

Posted 2-Aug-2017
Pros: Conveniently located in Vail Center Village. Staff is very courteous and accommodating.
Cons: Free parking was included, but one night all parking was occupied & we were directed to the free parking lot for Vail which is about a 7 min walk away
Location: Attended the Vail Dance Festival at the Gerald Ford Amphitheater, a 10 min walk from the Sitzmark.
Nice room facing the walking mall. Would pay the extra $10 per night to have the view along the river with a private balcony.

Nice location.

Posted 27-May-2017
Attractive room, quality furniture. Great view. Hot room as no Central ventilation, must open sliding door to cool room but no cross ventilation. Heating is one baseboard at the side of the inside queen bed. One elevator which is very slow and smaller than most. Breakfast room is small for table space, breakfast offerings very limited. Underground parking limited and not secure as no door.

'Off season' stay

Posted 17-May-2017
Pros: Clean, quiet, comfortable, central.
Stayed here in May , in Vail's 'off season', as a solo traveller. The hotel was quiet and friendly, with very helpful desk staff and scrupulously clean rooms. Most restaurants (including the one at the hotel) were closed, and Vail was pretty quiet. All chairlifts and gondolas were closed, and hiking trails were not yet open. Most restaurants and bars had deals on - eg - 40% off of entrees - as the place was quiet. I hired a bike from the friendly local bike store and had a couple of good days out cycling between the villages, using public transport to return from a lovely 20 mile downhill ride to Eagle on day 2 of my visit (they will carry your bike for free).

BEAUTIFUL, GREAT LOCATION

Posted 12-May-2017
Pros: The location--we were able to walk to stores and restaurants
Cons: To us, it left nothing to be desired. It was absolutely perfect.
Location: We traveled to a few nearby towns--Salida and Eagle and saw some deer and shopped at a 5 and dime store.
The Sitzmark Lodge is centrally located to shopping, restaurants and skiing. We arrived just as ski season was winding down and not a lot of shops, etc. were open. It still was beautiful with fresh snowfalls overnight. We sat at the "bar" located at the front window of the lobby each morning and enjoyed our coffee and continental breakfast as we watched the people go by and the snowflakes fall. Didn't get to use our balcony much as it was a little chilly but had a beautiful view of a bubbling brook and evergreens.

Outstanding customer service

Best location in heart of Vail! Customer service was excellent, they even opened up the hot tub for us because they knew we were sore from hiking the previous day. Dinner recommendations were spot on! We would definitely stay there again!
