'Off season' stay
Stayed here in May , in Vail's 'off season', as a solo traveller. The hotel was quiet and friendly, with very helpful desk staff and scrupulously clean rooms. Most restaurants (including the one at the hotel) were closed, and Vail was pretty quiet. All chairlifts and gondolas were closed, and hiking trails were not yet open. Most restaurants and bars had deals on - eg - 40% off of entrees - as the place was quiet. I hired a bike from the friendly local bike store and had a couple of good days out cycling between the villages, using public transport to return from a lovely 20 mile downhill ride to Eagle on day 2 of my visit (they will carry your bike for free).
