great stay!!
Wonderful.Friendly,warm owners and staff. Excellent food.Highly recommend!! The location is perfect,in a quiet neighborhood,yet close to the quaint downtown. This is an authentic Bavarian experience .

Lovely traditional hotel in Bavaria
Lovely traditional hotel situated in a stunning part of Bavaria. We stayed in a “Ferienwohnung” type room, which was very spacious and clean. It has all modern facilities such as a flat screen tv etc. Most of all we enjoyed the stunning views from our large private balcony. The management of this privately run hotel made us feel very welcome at check in and looked after us throughout our stay. We would like to say a very special thank you to Dani, who works in the hotel restaurant. She made our stay extra special, as she took time to explain all the local dishes and also posed in her traditional dress for pictures with us. The buffet breakfast was great. I really enjoyed the selection of traditional German meats and cheeses. And you can order your eggs from the kitchen so they are always perfect no matter how you like them. The quality of the food was wonderful and the beer (needless to say) amazing. We highly recommend Hotel Astrid, and we look forward to visiting again soon!

Lovely Hotel, Beautiful Location, But Not A 4 Star
Pros: The Hotel Astrid lies in the picturesque, Bavarian village of Unterwossen. It is a lovely hotel with very friendly, polite staff. The bedrooms are lovely and, if you are fortunate enough to have a room with a front-facing balcony, the views are simply wonderful. Breakfast is relaxed and served in the hotel's restaurant. Cons: The Hotel ceases to operate after breakfast. The bar and restaurant is invariably closed during the day/evening, there was no minibar/coffee making facilities in the room, which purported to be a double (it was in fact twin beds joined together). You will need your room key to gain entry to the hotel by the afternoon as reception is un-manned. English is not widely spoken in this district so some German is essential. Unterwossen and nearby Oberwossen are very quiet villages. There is virtually no venue for dinner or even a drink after dark, a car is therefore a must. Overall: A lovely hotel for hikers (or gliders - a brilliant gliding club is closeby). Very polite, friendly staff, enjoyable breakfasts, dinner on a Saturday (but seemingly not on other evenings), a spa, which I didn't try, beautiful views of the mountains and Alpine scenery, but having travelled all over the world this hotel is at best a 3 Star. However, it could be really special.

Bavarian Experience
If you want a Bavarian vacation this is the place to stay for the real feel. Very friendly staff, great food, clean accomodations and the perfect little town to go with it.

Superb family run hotel
Absolutely amazing family run cozy hotel. Quiet neighborhood, in a small Bavarian community, great breakfast selection. Rooms are very comfortable. We had a balcony I believe all rooms do. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Don't hesitate to ask any questions or if you are looking for recommendations in the area, check at the reception, they have the answer or will find it for you. They also have bicycles available to use, their restaurant is open wed-sun for dinner. They also have a parking garage available.

Beautiful hotel---far exceeded expectations
This hotel is a gem and I would love to go back! It is in a beautiful, quiet location. The hotel itself is beautiful and well appointed. My room was a suite with bedroom, living room, nice bath and even a kitchenette. It exceeded my expectations. The proprietors are lovely people who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast is included and is wonderful! We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was probably the best meal we had in three weeks. We drove to the Munich airport from here and were there in only 1 1/2 hours. It was so much better than being in the congestion of the city for our last night in Germany. Our only regret was that it was only a one night stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

A beautiful hotel that made our stay in Bavaria
Hotel Astrid was a lovely hotel. Friendly, helpful, spacious rooms, very nice indeed. We loved the view from our balcony, watching hang gliding off the mountain in front of our room. The suite was fabulous, couldn't have asked for more. Predominantly a German hotel, they were helpful translating the menu into English for us. Would recommend to others.

Very helpful staff
We were very pleased with our stay. The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. We had some questions about things to see in the area, and the staff was very helpful. They even had a map and pointed out the best routes to get where we wanted to go.

Great stay in beautiful area.
Very well organised hotel. All the staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful. The hotel had a comfortable, traditional feel (not the bland, modern feel of many city hotels.) We stayed in a balconied appartment with a brand new, well finished shower room. Plenty of choice at breakfast and good optional evening meals.

Nice hotel, outstanding service
When I arrived, the restaurant was closed, but they offered me a beer, anyway. I also asked for an early breakfast, which they were happy to provide despite being outside the normal hours. The breakfast was very good, and the manager helped me plan my drive through the Alps the next day. I received much more personal service than you would get at a larger hotel. I'd strongly recommend for any type of trip through Bavaria. The room itself was very nice and clean. The mattress was a little hard, but otherwise, it was a perfect stay. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Wonderful hospitality with good value.
Warm and friendly owners/staff. Very flexible and helpful with change of booking needs due to flight delay. Quiet location with close proximity to Chiemsee. Clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast included. Nice dinner option available too. Wifi worked well and ample parking. Very glad to have started our vacation here. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Would recommend this hotel.
Well run spotlessly clean traditional hotel with character set in a beautiful location. Very welcoming with friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay one to remember. The hotel's restaurant is first class and I would urge anyone to eat there. Do stay there if you are in this area.

Great Hotel
My family and I were all made to feel very welcome in this beautiful family run hotel in the Alps. We are going back in January for the ski season. Restaurant is excellent, beer even better.

Der erste Tag im Hotel war eine Zumutung, unser bestelltes Zimmer war eine Ferienwohnung, die Küche alt, das Schlafzimmer winzig, das Wohnzimmer war mit dunkelbraunen Möbeln ausgestattet, der Fernseher war im Wohnzimmer, man musste sich auf die dunkelbraune Chouch setzen, nicht sehr hygienisch. Nach Reklamation bekamen wir ein schönes Zimmer, in dem wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt haben. Das Personal war freundliche, sprach aber schlechtes deutsch. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig, war alles da, nur die Brötchen waren klein (5 cm Durchmesser) und nicht knusprig. Das Zimmer an unserem 2. Tag können wir sehr empfehlen.

Das Deluxe Zimmer mit vier Schalfplätzen für über 200 EUR/Nacht war nicht gut. Die Fussbodenheizung war bei Einzug ausgestellt, Gefühlt waren im Zimmer 18 Grad, einkalter Fließenfussboden, viel zu kalt, insbesondere mit kleinen Zimmern. Das Einschalten der Fussbodenheizung bewirkte nach ca. 12-14 h (nachts) dann erst einen Effekt, danach war es ok. Bei unserer zwischenzeitlichen Beschwerde verwies uns das Hotel auf den nächsten Techikertermin, der nach unserer Abreise stattfand. Die Kochplatten in der Küche brachten nur eine ungenügende Leistung. Eine Steckdose war angebrochen (Unfallgefahr für Kinder). Das Bett (Ausziehcouch) mit Nähe zum Balkon und Fernsehenr war eine dünne (geschätzt ca. 6 cm dicke) Matratze, schwer nutzbar.

Die Heizung war bei Ihrer Ankunft nicht ausgeschaltet- leider sind die Ziffern am Thermostat nicht deutlich genug zu erkennen. Da Sie uns mitgeteilt haben, dass Sie Probleme erfahren haben wiesen wir Sie darauf hin, dass der Techniker bald hier sein würde und sich alles gerne anschaut. Dieser war dann um 20 Uhr vor Ort! Ebenfalls haben wir die Kochplatten in der Küche auf Ihre Bewertung hin getestet und stellten fest, dass das Wasser im Kochtopf bereits nach 4 Minuten kochend war. Wir bedauern sehr, dass Sie mit der Leistung unserer Kochplatte unzufrieden waren. Gerne hätten Sie sich bei Unklarheiten bzgl. Betätigung der Kochplatte an uns wenden können. Auch tut es uns sehr leid, dass Sie mit unserer Schlafcouch unzufrieden waren. Wir bedanken uns für Ihren Hinweis. Wir würden uns auf eine zweite Chance sehr freuen und Sie eventuell zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt bei uns willkommen heißen zu dürfen.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis katastrophal, verdient keine 4 Sterne. Beim Abendessen waren 3 von 4 Eissorten nicht mehr verfügbar. Besteck und Servietten beim Eindecken vergessen. Espresso und Latte Macchiato konnten nicht zubereitet werden, da der Kaffee Vollautomat defekt war. Staub auf Wasserkocher und Thermoskanne in der Küchenzeile im Zimmer und Haare auf dem Föhn. Beim Frühstück Pommes vom Vorabend unter dem Tisch. Personal im Restaurant bemüht und freundlich, aber leider völlig inkompetent. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht.

Prima und gepflegte Unterkunft und großzugige Suite mit sogar eingebauten Küche. Der Ausblick auf dem Balkon ist wunderschön und man kann von dort die Segelflieger und Paraglider sehen. Das Frühstück mit Laufbuffet war gut organisiert und auf Hygiene Maßnahmen wurde geachtet.
