As others have noted, the continental breakfast is the bare minimum. We were surprised to discover that our room was not cleaned daily. The stone steps down to the basement rooms are a bit steep and uneven, and the hand rail is rickety. The owner is very focused on making sure all guests follow the house rules or there will be dire consequences. Some guests could be uncomfortable with the lack of privacy in the shower as there is a window through to the bedroom. You could not comfortably take advantage of the view from inside the room. The continental breakfast was minimal. Our room was not made up daily so we had to sweep the floor ourselves to avoid having forest litter tracked everywhere. The steps down to the basement rooms are a bit steep and irregular. A decent handrail is needed. The property around the house could use a good cleaning especially under the outside stairs. The property is a bit of a drive into town on a winding and dark road. The orientation to the property is lengthy and is focused on lots of rules and the dire consequences if any rule is broken.
