Hotels.com had given me the wrong address of the hotel and therefore I missed a transfer.

    Noisy basic room

Having read the prior reviews, I was looking forward to staying here. First the pickup I had asked for did not show. They quoted 40k rupiah and after calling several times and receiving no answer, I finally got a a prepaid taxi for 75% of their quoted price. Once on the street it was hard to find the place. There was only one small sign with Shana Bungalows. Thank you to an earlier reviewer who left the clue. There is no reference to Citrus Tree. I called when I only had 3% left of my cell phone battery and the woman who answered was very hard to understand and there was no place for my taxi driver to pull over on the one-way street to speak to her. I wound up getting out of the taxi at one end of the road and walking back to the bungalows. Only noticed the place when I stopped to change hands carrying the bag. Once I did arrive the lady said I would have to wait til the next morning for toilet paper as she was headed out to the temple. Good thing I got there when I did or I would be waiting even longer to get in my room. Never did get any toilet paper. Bought my own 3 days later. The bed was hard uncomfortable. It was two pieces of 3" foam butted together to form a double size bed. The fan was appreciated as the room was hot elsewise. Only got warm water once in the middle of the afternoon. Breakfast was OK. My room was right next to a restaurant and the road and was very noisy. Additionally, they are building another building on the property and so construction noise goes from early til late. All of this I would have accepted as part of the deal for having a cultural experience, however I missed any of the warm Balinese hospitality other reviews talked of. I guess they were either too busy or they choose just who gets the hospitality and culture exposure. I was very happy to leave and could barely say goodbye as I left. My next hotel was absolutely 180 degrees different in terms of welcome and caring.

Local House-hold unit, not to my expection

Quite surprised when I reached the place. Not aware this is indeed a unit of domestic house instead of a hotel room. Luckily we were only looking for a place to sleep in the night and did not expect much in the day.

Pros: The breakfast is excellent, prepared per your order.

Cons: To have a wall mounted fan outside the room and a curtain to block the sun in the dinning area and an Air-cond. unit for the room for a good sleep.

Location: Close by the market, museum and shopping area, it is convenient.

    4/5 Good

    Basic but very pleasant stay

Shana is located very conveniently on a smaller road close to the main road so exploring the city is easy. The room was very basic (could use a bit more light inside both bathroom and living spaces) but had all you need really. The small patio / terrace outside the room is lovely for chilling out. The best part of our stay were the lovely family and staff running the place. They were extremely friendly and helpful. We got to see their normal life which you don't get to see in a hotel / hostel. The breakfast was also delightful, good coffee and pancakes! Couple of negative things were the constant noise from the street and the restaurant next door as well as the smoke / smell in the morning that occasionally gets inside the room. But over all a very pleasant stay in Ubud, recommended.

    5/5 Excellent

看板は赤い字で高いところに「Shana」とだけ出ていますので、Jl Gootama(Jalan Gootama : Gootama通り)に入ったらよく探してください。
