I also feel the ratings were pretty high for a small semi-updated motel with new paint and a sketchy part of town. I paid insurance but the VRBO APP said I was too late. If we return to Two Harbors, we are definitely staying here again. The room is clean and comfortable and Becky is a wonderful, communicative, and accommodating host! With the fridge, microwave, AC, and full bathroom, we had all the necessities, and it was a perfect stop on our trip. A great place to stay if you’re coming from Duluth and going North as it’s half an hour from the city, and only 10-15 minutes South of Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock. Locally, all necessary stores are walkable, with nearby grocery, gas, and dining. Only downsides of the town are that store hours are limited and many aren’t open past 3 or 4 PM, and the town itself seems a little more run down than it was ten years ago. That being said, there are many nearby areas to explore that don’t close with the buildings around it, like the beaches and trails.
