"For the price that was charged, the communication should of been much, much better. We were not told until after the fact that the wifi it says they have we have to pay for separate. The Queen size bed creaked and made so much noise when you turn, it can be heard throughout. Not to mention, very uncomfortable. The 3 of us were the only people in the pool area. We were told to put our masks on and stay 6 ft apart. We were family. They never said a word later when 6 others walked in with no...

"Clean room , fun pool, kind staff."

Ocean Pacific Lodge

8/10 Good

"Pretty convenient location and a decent price compared with the astronomical price of many other options. Adequate parking and walkable distance to the downtown and plenty of dining options. I would stay again but would make sure my room was not immediately adjacent to the ice machine ( foot traffic of people getting ice) and the pool ( kids birthday parties etc not great if you’re trying to rest). Air conditioning was a bit loud tbh at least in my room - but on the plus side their wasn’t any drama at night or noise and I think they keep a close eye on the place- it’s a motor court arrangement with rooms facing out so could be vulnerable to randoms wandering through but there was no problem."

Bella Notte, a ZenStay Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Clean, quiet location. Walkable to breakfast joints and Deke's Market/Deli. Comfortable bed. Love the kitchenette. High ceilings so the room temperature stayed on the cool side. The Panasonic microwave/oven was high performance and allowed us many options for reheating some foods like our Hawaiian rice and crisp up our chicken katsu and leftover pizza. Perfect idea! The bathroom is also high ceiling and didn't get steamy from the shower; there's a window to open if that became a problem. Love the rainshower head, but we could have used more water pressue than the gentle rainfall it gave. We felt the room was too cool for us when we arrived but had a hard time figuring out the controls on the thermostat and ended up turning it off. The room never got stuffy even though we did that. We also had a small problem of ants crawling up from behind the bathroom sink one night after returning from our outing and contacted the staff right away. Great communication! They made plans immediately to come and cleaned out the problem area the very next day. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone."

Spacious Santa Cruz Beach Home, Walk to the Ocean, Game Room, Pet Friendly!

8/10 Good

"If you have a large group and want to be near the beach, this is a good place to pick. Michelle is truly hospitable and enjoys hosting. She was a good communicator and responded to my concern about broken blinds in some of the bedrooms by providing 3 new blinds the following day. The layout is a bit random (2 houses became one) but there are also some advantages: 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators. We loved having all 13 of us around one big dining table- what a treat! The house was very clean with lovely light-colored floors throughout. It’s hard to find a house w/ 6 bedrooms, that was a gift for our extended family of 7 adults 6 kids ages four and under.A couple of things for travelers to know, esp if they have littles: no A/C because the house is coastal. We stayed in September and in the afternoons the upstairs reached low 80’s (weather was high 70’s.) Bedrooms are on the ground floor, they run cooler. Many bedroom windows were sticky/heavy in their frames and difficult to open. Several of the windows in the house as well as the 4 sliding doors (2 upstairs, 2 ds) did not have screens. No screen doors meant we kept the the upstairs sliders closed - even in the heat - bc we didn’t want our littles running out onto the 2nd story deck (there is a railing, but we’re cautious). We brought 2 toddler gates for 2 different flights of stairs. This is a spacious, unique place minutes away from Twin Lakes State Beach. Michelle is a kind host. We wish her well."
