It was founded by Lewis Adams, a former slave, and George W. Campbell, a former slave owner. Adams asked that an educational institution for blacks be established. After Foster won the election, $2,000 (per year) was allocated from the state general budget for such a school to be located in Macon County. We had an amazing stay at K’s Cozy 3-Bedroom Home while visiting Tuskegee for our son’s collegiate baseball game at TU. Since this is his senior year, we try to make it to as many games as possible. Typically, we have to commute from Auburn or Opelika, but we were extremely fortunate to find this property just minutes from TU. Being so close allowed us to spend more quality time over the weekend, making the experience even more special.The home itself was clean, aesthetically pleasing, and thoughtfully appointed. Every detail was carefully considered, and the host was incredibly attentive to our needs. It’s rare to find a stay in Tuskegee that is not only suitable and safe but also affordable—this home checked all the boxes!Though our stay was short, it was one of the best we’ve had in quite some time. If you’re visiting Tuskegee and looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay, we highly recommend this gem. We will certainly be back. ##### Marva W.
