This is one of the only truly private beach experiences in Tulum, as Casa Carolina is the only Villa on the property and the beach is never shared with any other rental units, casitas or bungalows! We are a private beachfront oasis directly within the coveted Tulum Hotel Zone, steps from Tulum's world famous restaurants. It is the premier beach location not only in Tulum, but in all of Mexico. Each of the 5 spacious bedroom suites features its own large en suite bath with massive shower that is separated from the sleeping area. Additionally, each room features its own sitting area, secure access/entry and private balcony/terrace with direct ocean view. The spacious common areas on the first floor, outside and rooftop allow for a relaxed, inviting atmosphere conducive to both intimate conversations, alfresco dining and mingling with other friends and family. The finishes are consistent with the theme of casual, vacation luxury, and emphasizes the uniqueness of the Tulum location and ecology. Each room features local high end bath products, high thread count linens, pillow top mattress’ ; set against the cool, sleek polished concrete, stone and wood finishes of the bedrooms, floors and bath vanities. Casa Carolina features solar power and a backup generator to meet the needs of guests 24/7 while taking extra care to lessen our footprint in this pristine area. The spacious kitchen is designed to function both for the staff to provide all meals, or to be used by its guests. It features professional grade stainless steel appliances, dual sink and complete wood cabinet line. Our massive locally crafted dining table seats 12 comfortably. The Villa features its own beach side partially shaded swimming pool which offers a cool reprieve from the sun. Other amenities include beach beds, palapas, outdoor shower, roof top sunset deck, large open gathering areas, outdoor covered patio/decks, internet access and a private, secure walled compound. We could not speak more highly of the property, staff and owners. The house was beautiful and very clean! Eric and Paula made our stay!! If you don't have them cook for you, you are missing out! They are wonderful people too! They made sure we had anything we wanted and more while we were in Tulum. It is very well-maintained and looks exactly like the photos on the listing. Eric and Paula went above and beyond to make our group feel comfortable. They bought our groceries, cooked us truly delicious meals, cleaned up, made delightful cocktails, and invested their time and energy in making our stay feel special. However, there was a security incident on our second to last night, after we accidentally left a window unlocked and an intruder came in while we were home. Luckily, nobody was hurt, and Eric/Paula responded quickly, contacting the authorities and callling the local manager to meet with us. He hired a security guard for our last night. Unfortunately, the security guard made some of the women feel uncomfortable when they returned late into the night, and he appeared to be sleeping and disoriented. He wouldn't let them in to the gate until he went and woke up Eric to come out. To the owner's credit, he comped one of our dinner service fees and reimbursed the price of the phone that was stolen. He told us he'd never had a security incident before and that he'd be increasing security measures (video surveillance, motion security lights, a more reliable security company) going forward.
