Elevated among the trees in a high canopy jungle, this completely sustainable queen bedded room has windows on all sides bringing the outdoors in, and is equipped with a ceiling fan, mosquito netting and bathroom. This is totally off grid but has starlink. There is an outdoor shower and kitchen with a rooftop sitting area with hammocks and other sitting. If you need aircondioning there isnt but the fans do a good job.We saw tucans, bats and other wildlife on the property as well as played with Pepe. Everything was amazing, and blissfull. Totally off-grid so the amenities, although quite adequate for our needs, are indeed rustic, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The property is located about 15 kms from Tulum so a car is an absolute necessity. Casita Milagros is within easy reach of Chichen Itzá and the beach at Bahia Principe, both highly recommended day trips.Oh, and be prepared to interact, if you wish, the resident and very friendly pet coati, Pepe. It was just what we needed. There is a rooftop patio with hammocks and chairs. We would just lay in the hammocks and watch the sunset followed by the stars coming out. Tulum proper is about 15 minutes away by car and the beach 20 something minutes away. Cenotes are even closer and are amazing to explore. Mile and a half drive down a rocky fun windy road (any car can make the drive but an suv is a better ride) the tree house is behind the main house up some stairs. Everything was clean and minimal which is just what we were looking for. Pepe was super cool too! We saw 3 monkeys swinging overhead jumping thru the trees. And a Toucan! The birds were wonderful. Laying in bed listening to the jungle noises was a major highlight! We stayed a wk but wish we booked to stay longer. We will definitely be back! Clayamma was a gracious host and super helpful. I’m very glad we had an SUV, as the road is a little bumpy, I was glad we had it for multiple reasons around Tulum as well so 10/10 recommend renting an SUV for your stay. Pepe the coati is one of the highlights of our entire trip, he reminded me a lot of one of my house cats! Very playful and has a mind of his own, he does have claws and teeth to be mindful of but he never was trying to hurt anyone, just playing! He was the sweetest and so fun. We enjoyed the location. It was 15 min drive from tulum. If you want live the jungle experience with all the confort you need, this is the place. We loved that everywhere you look was beautiful. Clayanna created a beautiful and safe environment. The cabin is elevated and built very tight and its mosquito proof for the wet season. Showering outside while hearing jungle birds was awesome and the water was hot. You can also enjoy a stroll on a very quiet jungle road to a communal palapa with hamacs and there is a fire pit area also near the cabin for guests to use. The kitchen area was very handy and the dining/relaxing area very romantic. Clayanna is a caring and wonderful host. She met with us in tulum at our arrival so we can follow her car to her place so we can find it easily. The location is fabulous for visiting Cenotes that dot the area and not far at all from Coba for a fun day trip to see the ruins. I would highly recommend renting a car which we did so you can have easy adventures around the area. Tulum beaches, shopping and restaurants are a short and pretty 15 min. drive but you can be at close by Cenotes for swimming within 5 min tops. The casita is so charming and all of the artistic touches around the whole property lend to the amazing character of the place. I am incredibly envious that she gets to live there full time! We spent 1/2 our stay here and 1/2 down in Tulum which I think is a great way to get to see all the area. Thank you Clayanna for such a fabulous jungle experience! Mar 31, 2015 #### A Perfect Jungle Retreat Other reviewers have perfectly summarized Casa Milagros but I couldn't resist a review myself. My boyfriend and I just returned from a week in Tulum, four nights of which were spent at this fantastic treehouse. I can't say enough good things about the place and about Clayanna. The place itself is beautifully and simply decorated. It's clean and very tastefully arranged. We loved waking up to the sounds of birds and bird watching each morning while drinking our coffee. Clayanna was so helpful and gave us great recommendations on things to do and see in the area. There are a number of hammocks and chairs to lounge in around the property and just a short walk down the road there's a fantastic community garden and community space. We found it to be a great home base for seeing cenotes, ruins and snorkeling in Akumal as well as enjoying all the fantastic things Tulum has to offer. And the price is right. Thank you, Clayanna! Jan 9, 2015 #### Unique home in the jungle but close to Tulum town - AMAZING room and stay! I loved this home in the jungle, the place is really stunning and the location is totally unique. We were two people and the room was very spacious, you have your own entrance and everything is separate so you do not feel that you are bothering anyone. There is an open air kitchen where you can cook and make breakfast/coffee. The shower is open air and probably one of my favorite things about the place. All the furnishings and finishings are very high end - this isn't an eco-lodge where you're roughing it! Beautiful outdoor hammocks to relax in and a comfortable outdoor deck to have a drink or enjoy the sounds of the birds and monkeys. I do think that you absolutely need to have a car while staying here as the home is about 15km from the beach and maybe 2km deeper into the woods off the main road. Its very easy to get from there to the beach area (plenty of parking down there) and to Coba ruins, Tulum ruins and Chichen Itza. Our host gave us a great recommendation for a fun bar in Tulum town which we enjoyed one of the evenings. The area is beautiful and staying here really gives you the best of both worlds - the business and commercialness of the beach and the quiet and calm of the jungle. ##### Wassan H. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Rosemary S. We were hoping for a quiet peaceful connection with nature. We got exactly that. I tried to keep track of the number of spider monkeys that swung freely from the trees above us, but lost track! We spotted 3 pairs of Toucans and flocks of parrots from the upper deck while laying in hammocks. The wildlife was unforgettable. it was cacophony of birds, insects, tree frogs? and “monkeys night life”. The Casita was also unforgettable, with a very comfortable bed, a hammock chair, a small dresser and 2 end tables, plus a private natural compost toilet. The screens in the casita allowed for a constant breeze. We love camping so we loved outdoor shower!!! and the outdoor kitchen made us feel at home. All this was nestled in a jungle forest. I can’t say enough about the one-ness I felt with nature. My husband thanked me for booking this gem for us. Thank you Clayanna. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
