We've been friends since junior high and traveling together for decades so we value a trip headquarters that is clean, comfortable, and in a good location. This house checked all of those requirements, but also was beautifully updated and modernized, and filled with thoughtful extras (robes in the master bedroom, plenty of coffee pods, etc.). The beds are especially comfortable, and the master bathroom is spectacular. The stairs are steep, so anyone with mobility problems should be assigned the main floor bedroom. This also means the comfy furniture in the second floor lounge isn't easily accessible for everyone (the antique living room furniture looks lovely but isn't as comfortable), so we mostly did our talking around the dining room table or on the porch. But the location is ideal, just two short blocks from the Rose District shops and terrific restaurants. We meandered in and out of shops, ate most of our meals there, and visited the Rose Rock Microcreamery more than once! I highly recommend this home and its wonderful hostess, Gracie. ##### Sara W.
