After a day of hiking and desert exploration, relax in the spa and heated pool. Our Santa Fe style house has dedicated office space and an open floor plan, so its great for cooking meals and socializing. You’ll enjoy spectacular mountain views and breathtaking sunsets. Includes garage parking, W/D, fireplace, bbq. Located 25 minutes from downtown and the Tucson Airport. \-- The space -- Our home pays homage to the surrounding desert, with colors and objects that remind us of the amazing array of life teeming in our backyard. The house has an open floor plan with lots of light, so the rooms all flow into each other. The kitchen overlooks the living room, which makes it easy to prepare meals while interacting with other guests. The living room and primary bedroom both have Roku TVs. The living room is our cozy "rustic desert" area housing a large leather sectional with 3 recliners and a natural gas kiva style fireplace. Bedroom 1 has a private bathroom with an amazing custom built shower and dual vanities. This bedroom, which has a king bed, is on a separate wing of the house. Bedroom 2 has a California King bed and is our nod to the inspiring sunsets and natural beauty of the Sonoran dessert. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and is comfy with a traditional southwestern feel. Bedroom 4 is a corner windowed office with a trundle bed, so it can be converted to a 2 twin bedroom. The laundry facilities are great for extended stays and the 2.5 car garage has plenty of room for parking. You'll likely spend much of your time in the backyard. We have a spacious lot with multiple seating/gathering areas and a stone wall around the perimeter. There's a plethora of native vegetation, such as ocotillos, saguaros, barrel cactus, prickly pear, and creosote bushes. BBQ grill is ready to go with 6 burners. The pool is great for those hot summer days. Pool heating is available for an extra $60/day (non-refundable). The spa is a great way to end the day (plan ahead - depending on the temperature, it takes 20 to 60 minutes to fully heat up). We love our home and love our neighbors, so if you're looking to book a space for a party weekend, this place is not for you. We have zero tolerance for large, loud parties. \-- Guest access -- An access code will be sent on the morning of check-in. Parking in the 2 car garage is encouraged but there is also a large driveway available. \-- Other things to note -- Pool can be heated for an additional $60 per day to be remitted prior to arrival. Please make sure to pre-request pool to be heated as it takes up to 24 hours for it to warm to temperature. No refunds for this option. No pets allowed No smoking No parties Must be 25 or older to book the property Arizona is full of wildlife, including insects. The location so close to Saguaro National Park East is perfect. The house is spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and very welcoming. All the important items (hot tub switches, outdoor lights, etc.) were clearly labelled, which was very helpful. We also found the booklet with guidelines about the house and suggestions for restaurants and local sites to be extremely useful. Every question that I had was already answered in the book. We enjoyed our Nordic experience of lounging in the hot tub and then going into the freezing cold pool. If you like a warm pool experience, don't let AZ fool you - just because it was near 90 during the day, the November nights get cold and keep that pool chilly. Pay for the heating if that is what you want. We also really enjoyed the dark sky aspect of the property. My husband brought his telescope and got some great images of the crab nebula from the back yard. I wish I could have met Matt and Clint in person, but my communications with Matt were very friendly and professional. We had an absolutely perfect stay at the Ocotillo House. We are from the Seattle area and wanted to see actual sun and be in some warm weather and this place was ideal. The house is bigger than it seems in photos and really clean and well stocked. Everything you could think of was provided. The pool and spa and backyard were amazing. We spent most of our time out there. I really can't say enough about how great this place was. The owners are super responsive and I appreciated that. Loved all the outdoor sitting nooks. The spacious back porch and open floor plan suited our crew of 6. We had such a good time together: there were comfortable spaces indoors and out, so togetherness and aloneness were equally possible. The patio and pool deck are so relaxing. Beds are comfortable, roomy and lots of closet space. We were in Tucson for a lacrosse tournament, the whole family came and this home fit us well. The house is so comfortable, we loved the layout. I actually enjoyed working in the office space. The master bath was pure luxury. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. More than enough pool towels, super comfortable patio and a pool we couldn’t get enough of. Beautiful sunsets every night. Love the location close to Saguaro NP East and 15 minutes to downtown.
