We were surprised when we arrived and found only concrete blocks and no hot tub. While the hot tub may have been damaged during the recent storms, the site should tell folks that there is no hot tub. The house itself was fine; it was a little small. Biggest issue I had was that there were dead bugs and a lot of spider webs in the corners of the home and on the upper part of the walls. Also, there are gaps in the supporting beams and several times beetles just dropped from those gaps onto the floor. One even dropped onto my pillow. I am not squeamish but it was pretty gross. The house did have everything we needed for our stay and it was nice to have a washer and dryer available. It was also nice being able to bring our dog. The house is on one of the main streets in Truckee, but it was quiet at night. Would have liked to have sat outside on the front deck in the morning but the traffic noise was too much. Overall, the house served our purposes but it was not great. Very disappointed we were not told about the hot tub. ##### Laura W. I would recommend it for 2 couples, 3 would be a little cramped. The parking situation was a challenge though. The main road is very busy and you are blind pulling a car out. You need to have someone stop traffic to pull a car out onto the main road. Overall the place is great. The cabin itself is not swanky/fancy/new per se, but it's really nice and feels like a family getaway. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to make our meals. The location is good overall: easy access to Donner Lake, hiking trails, etc etc. It is worth noting that it's on a fairly busy road, so just keep that in mind if you have dogs or little kids running around. Logistics to check in and out were easy. Would stay here again. ##### Matthew B.
