Enjoy the privacy of a large professionally landscaped & fully fenced front and backyard or gather by the custom fire pit and tell stories under the stars. Rustic-eclectic décor, high end linens, bedding, warm hardwood floors, and an open living concept to gather with friends and family. This is a delightful retreat for your alpine getaway. The kitchen features granite countertops, a 6 burner Thermador stove and is outfitted with every kitchen gadget desired including an Instapot, Crockpot, Rice Maker, Cusinart, VitaMix, Fondue Pot and more. This rustic, ranch style, single family home sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed, french doors to a private courtyard (seasonal), and an efficient en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower featuring two rain style shower heads, perfect for relaxation and warming after a day on the slopes. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and the third bedroom features a double bed, both with french doors offering serene views and access to the backyard. A bathroom with a tub/shower combination sits across the hall. Head to the front covered porch with seating to enjoy coffee or the bi-level back deck/patio to sip a glass of wine at the fire pit or share a homemade meal at the custom farm table under a covered deck with bistro lights. There is also a large gas BBQ, ping pong table and steel tip dartboard. (Fire pit, Backyard Outdoor Furniture, Ping Pong Table and BBQ are not available in the winter months). Guest amenities include complimentary hi speed Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and parking for a maximum of 3 cars (no garage access). We also offer a variety of games and books. This rental does not have air-conditioning. There is a mobile fan in each bedroom. For the quickest response, please text or call us. Please take no offense as I share this with everyone but this is not a party house. All our neighbors are full time and while you will find them welcoming and helpful, they are instructed to call us with any issues (noise, over occupancy, dogs barking, etc). And the Town of Truckee is very strict with the STR rules including noise, over occupancy and trash. And fortunately offers a quick path to evict. And while we are not dog breed restrictive we are behavior restrictive, such as chewing, digging or couch surfing. We have many custom wood items within and outside the home. Dogs can not be left unattended at the property. We ask that you bring dog beds instead of allowing your fur babies on the furniture. And the garden / yard is very mature and we have invested a ton of time and money so we do not want to see digging or running through the floor beds. The house was much better than the pictures and our stay was so cozy and relaxing, we were definitely very grateful to be able to spend several nights there. The backyard was amazing and our pup really enjoyed spending the time there, as well as us. The neighborhood is so friendly and enjoyable for walking our pup, I got to meet some of the neighbors who greeted us, so kind of them… one of them had the “little Truckee ice creamery” truck which is our favorite ice cream in the area :-). All beds were super comfortable, even the Murphy bed we slept on. Good sized great room and dining table were perfect for NYE dining and our son's proposal to his (now) fiance! Very well equipped kitchen and pantry items made it easy to cook full meals w/ ease. Host Shelley was an excellent communicator She alerted me to a small glitch the day of our arrival but mobilized a contractor to take care of the big issue (toilet) and we had no issues at all with it. She also had a work-around for the balky front door lock. Although we didn't have snow until day of departure, the super smart mudroom made shedding coats and shoes easy and warm (it's heated!!). As far as attention to detail, these owners did it right. The home has everything you'll need! It is clean & so comfortable! Amazing location--close to town, restaurants & hiking paths. The fenced yards are great & our dog Max loved romping around in the snow. NOTE to potential renters: the owners have a Nest thermostat connected to their WIFI so they're in charge of the heat. You can override the settings temporarily. We didn't fully understand this until a day1/2 into our stay. It was very cold in Truckee & we prefer a 68–70-degree home. We noted when we'd set the thermostat to 70 in a few hours it was back to 55-60\. I texted the owner to ask about this & she thought it strange this was happening. We went & bought a space heater so we'd have consistent heat. We were gone for a couple of hours our first day & came home to a 55-degree home. Texted owner again. She said she'd get her husband on it. Learned the owners have the thermostat reset to 60-65 degrees during the day since people go out & leave the thermostat on as they're enjoying their day. We were blown away to learn that the owners were controlling our comfort level. We can't be sure but we figure our rent covered the 2.5 days of heat we used. It wasn't until Sunday morning that we were promised 70-degree consistent heat until our departure on Monday. Perfect! It is located very close to town which was so convenient. It was a perfect place to stay with my family and our dog. The owner was very attentive and accommodating. Super clean, stocked better than any rental we've ever stayed! Comfy beds, big TV. Lots of games, big yard. Quiet neighborhood. Shelly was an attentive host with plenty of recommendations. We loved sitting out by the fire pit and enjoying the stars. Most rentals have very few cooking utensils and seasonings for cooking, but this house is the exception. The cabin was just the right size for our family of 5 and our dog who loves the snow. We had everything we needed for the week and the neighborhood was very friendly. We loved being close to Truckee where we took our dog on daily romps along the Legacy Trail near the river. We also were able to get to Northstar pretty easily for skiing days as well. The home was so well stocked it felt like we were staying at a friend's home. There were tons of games (indoor and outdoor). The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The location was great for hanging in downtown Truckee. We mostly biked and barely used our car to get around town. The wifi speed was super fast which is always great when traveling with teenagers. The home was spotless & well stocked & the homeowner was very easy to communicate with & responded quickly with any question we had. Their snow removal service was very efficient & kept the driveway open for us through a very heavy 4 days of snowfall. We loved the cozy feel of this “rustic” but very updated home. The home was in a wonderful neighborhood that was convenient to everything. We would definitely try to rent this property again on any future trip to Truckee. ##### Karen E.
