The adjacent, open-plan kitchen and dining area mean the chef of the group won’t feel left out while preparing meals. There’s a suite of gleaming stainless steel appliances, and a lovely natural-edge dining table, which doubles as prep space. When it’s time to eat, you can enjoy the same lovely view from the table. A washer/dryer and free WiFi round out this home's interior perks. Once you’ve settled in, it's time to explore your surroundings. In the summer, nearby Donner Lake and hiking trails beckon, and in the winter, you’re surrounded by ski slopes. Truckee and Tahoe are a short drive away, and when it's time to return, you can go into full hibernation mode and get cozy. Beds are comfy, plenty of towels provided, lake views are great, clean and newly built home, well appointed kitchen, was able to check in early, and convenient garage with parking for 2 SUVs inside (a must for the winter), cozy warm fireplace—all around really lovely home. We just wished our experience dealing with Vacasa was different so that we could return some day. Major issue: the Internet. Hands down. This place completely lacks cell service and the internet/wifi is worse than dial-up speeds. I’m talking 1-3 Mbps speeds. It was largely inoperable when we rented the unit for 3 nights/4 days and, when it did work, only one device could be connected at one time otherwise it would crap out. And by “work,” I mean you could get a webpage to load, but forget about streaming anything or working remotely. Worse yet, when we drove to town to get cell service (yes, you have to leave the unit to use your phone) to complain, we were told someone from maintenance would be out to fix the issue. After 3 nights at the unit, no one ever came and the wifi issue was never resolved. I called and texted Vacasa countless times and was told they were working to resolve the issue. Nothing was ever done. No one ever came and the issue persisted the entire time we were there. This unit is truly lovely, and it’s a shame we had such a terrible experience dealing with Vacasa because the unit has the potential to be spectacular. ##### Ann Marie E. We had an issue with the dishwasher at check in, but management was very prompt in response to our satisfaction. There was heavy snow during our stay and the garage parking was very much appreciated! The kitchen is stocked with items not usual in rentals, including veggie peeler, apple slicer and nonstick pans (my preferred cooking material). My favorite is the regular coffee drip maker and a Keurig machine! I brought my own Keurig pods and was a happy camper in the mornings. The bathroom has the nice hairdryer with the concentrator nozzle. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but for me, these are small things that I appreciate. I usually bring my own shampoo, but (of course) I lapsed in judgement and didn't bring enough. Fortunately, they provided small hotel size Shampoo and Conditioner in each bathroom. I was really thankful since it saved me a late night run into town. If this place is available, you won't regret it. I would definitely return. ##### R F. Very clean and beautifully decorated. Perfect for two couples or a small family. The garage parking is a huge plus in the winter. Close to Donner Lake and Sugar Bowl as well as the town of Truckee.
