This beautifully situated Northstar-at-Tahoe vacation home base is a proudly-preserved 1990s Sierra chalet with expansive views. Admire distant Sierra peaks westward across Martis Valley from two of three large decks. Soaring ceilings and an abundance of windows take full advantage of the spectacular location and breathtaking sunsets. Gather with friends and family in the sun-soaked open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area on the main upper level. The dining table seats ten and the breakfast bar seats two more. Meal prep is easy for groups in the well-stocked kitchen with two sinks, gas cooktop, new electric double oven and ample counter space. Extend your entertaining into the great room wet bar area with beverage fridge. The back deck offers a private retreat with peaceful garden and forest views. All three decks are outfitted seasonally with tables and seating. The primary bedroom opens off of the great room and features a sitting area, remote-controlled gas fireplace, plus a jetted tub in the ensuite bathroom. In the winter, hit the slopes at the Resort or enjoy ice-skating in the Village. Village dining, shopping and a convenience market are open year-round. Best of all, a free seasonally available door-to-door shuttle service gets you to the Mountain, Golf Course, Recreation Center, Resort and Village. Jan 9, 2023 #### Great place, poor service We enjoyed the spacy house with the fantastic location. Shuttle takes you to Northstar and back. We had a few issues e.g. WiFi password provided was incorrect. We called and were told someone will come to resolve it. Unfortunately, nobody showed up and nobody contacted us how to resolve the matter. Nobody even followed up with us. ##### Sasa S. One of the bedrooms had mushrooms growing through the carpet. It was disgusting. We could not use that bedroom, so people had to sleep on the floor in another room. Lots of deck space and a large couch in the living room to socialize between outdoor activities in the area, and a fully-stocked kitchen for all our at-home meals. We also appreciated access to the in-unit laundry to wash clothes and towels after river rafting! Just note the bathroom doors have a tendency to get stuck and need to be re-leveled, and the worn-out skillets in the kitchen should be replaced. Great impression of the house otherwise. Mar 11, 2022 #### Family Ski Trip We enjoyed our stay at Sleek Hill Haven. Definitely an older property, but fully functional and clean. In the winter, the only way in was through the garage, which had a large chunk of ice on it and no salt in the garage. We contacted Vacasa regarding this hazard, but they never came to address it. They did plow after the snow storm, which was helpful since the driveway was very steep. Overall a good property with great views! ##### Heidi A. Feb 1, 2022 #### Could use significant attention The house was large and accommodated 3 small families well. The location can't be beat with incredible views and fun snow play around the house. The furniture was nice and comfortable. However, we were disappointed with the kitchen. The appliances are clearly original (built in 1990). The top oven was broken and the heating coil sparked. The outside grill was out of propane as well as the lighter mechanism not working. The cabinet door under the sink was broken and the door fell off each time the cabinet door was opened to get soap for the dishwasher. Make sure you bring all your own spices as there are none provide in the house. I don't think I have unrealistic expectations for vacation houses, but for the price of this home, I would expect them to provide salt, pepper and olive oil. Another disappointment was that the (numerous) stairs to the front door, and the driveway directly in front of the garage door were covered in thick sheets of slick ice. I understand that I am vacationing in the snow, and I would be fine with snow/ice if it were actually snowing, but it hadn't snowed in over 1 month. It was very treacherous every time we left the house. By the time we got there, the ice was so thick there was no way for us to break through it with a snow shovel.
