VILLA BRAGHÒ in the heart of Tropea

Villa Braghò in Tropea is unique unto itself since it is set in 3.8 hectares of a splendid mature Mediterranean garden whist still being a part of the town centre. One side of the garden is bounded by an orange grove which envelops the whole in fragrance in the spring. The villa has a private swimming pool behind a lemon tree hedge. A number of mature bougainvilleas add their beauty to the garden as do a large Peruvian pepper tree and four immense Italian stone pines also called parasol pines.

The two-storey villa is furnished with antique furniture and quality ceramic floors. Of noteworthy interest is an old floor by Vietri whose colours recall the sea around Tropea. The ground floor holds the entrance hall, the drawing room, the dining room, the kitchen, laundry and larder. The first floor has two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. The villa also has a pretty annex with a double bedroom, bathroom and kitchen overlooking a spacious independent terrace. The villa sleeps six people. There is an ample parking area inside the property.

We enjoyed our stay at the villa very much. A lot has been written already and all is true. Ginevra is the most wonderful host you can imagine, present, friendly, helpful but never invasive. The property is stunning. The villa is very well equipped both inside and outside: linens, tons of cooking accessories, products for dishwasher and washing machine, towels, nothing is missing. The pool and the pool area is fantastic with huge umbrellas, sitting table and chairs, lying chairs, shaded or sunny places, dedicated shower place... What is important to us is the sleeping comfort, the beds are high quality, the thick walls and modern air conditioning provided an ideal temperature. You feel that the villa got inhabited, it's cosy and has a real soul, it's not like many vacation rental places. It is very convenient to walk a few minutes to Tropea center and buy anything you need, there is a daily market close by with tasty fruit and vegetables. I could go on and continue to list positive elements. To conclude on an emotion, watching the sunset on the sea and the Stromboli from the bedroom terraces while sipping a Limoncello Spritz is unforgettable.

Ginevra est une personne très attentive aux voyageurs et également très discrète . La maison est idéalement situé et possède un très beau jardin fleuri et toute la maison possède une belle vue sur la mer ! From the outset we were impressed with the ease of communication with our hosts and from the moment we met them we really were treated like royalty. Ginevra and Alessandro could not do anymore for you, from recommendations and booking restaurant reservations to organisng a private boat tour, trips to the supermarket for supplies, we could ask for no more. The house itself is huge, well proportioned and has tge benefit of a private annex too. The photos do not do the property justice. The garden is just fabulous, with the swimming pool the real star of the show, a proper showstopper. The location of the house is awsome. In under 10 mins you have walked into Tropea, a wonderful bustlng town full of great restaurants and bars and shops hidden down the endless cobbled streets. Here also is the gateway to the beach and its breathtaking views of the beautiful sea. It was truly a great trip and my family and i will no doubt come back to stay with these wonderful people in their home again x

Magical spot so hard to leave!

Our family of four stayed at this magical place for a week. The house and gardens are meticulously clean and comfortable, and our host Ginevra was so gracious and helpful. Most peaceful oasis and green space in all of Tropea

We have rented numerous upscale properties across the globe, but few could match this excellent private villa on the outskirts of Tropea in terms of value. The house itself (annex included) is fantastic and full of special charm. The lovely pool, the constant birdsong and the access to town are all reasons enough to rent Villa Bragho, but one cannot say enough about the owner lady. Bravo Ginevra. She was a superb hostess in every way and worked hard from the start to ensure a wonderful stay. Buono buono! This property is a vacation unto itself.

Exceeded our expectations

Everything about Villa Braghò was magical, from the moment our host Ginevra greeted us until we finally had to say goodbye. The house itself is lovely, with large rooms, a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. There are two tables – one for four and one for six – just outside the kitchen doors for family dining on a lovely covered patio, making eating in as enjoyable as going out. The enormous grounds are nothing less than stunning and beautifully maintained by the charming gardener, who is there most days. The huge pool is sparklingly inviting and there is comfortable patio furniture as well as big umbrellas of the sort usually seen in top hotels. The house was kept immaculately clean by Mima, who came in twice a week. It is just a short walk into Tropea, a very lively town with countless restaurants, bars and shops and the beaches are amongst the most beautiful in Italy. But best of all was the charm of our host. She lives in a small property adjacent to the main house and is always on hand to answer any questions you may have. She was kind enough to take us to some of her favourite food shops and give us many recommendations for restaurants and daytime activities. We have no hesitation in whole-heartedly recommending this property.

Wonderful Return to My Father's Homeland of Tropea

VILLA BRAGHÒ is a excellent villa to spend two weeks enjoying the town of Tropea and the Province of Calabria, Italy. The villa itself is situated just above centre of Tropea so that you are within a 5 minute walk of all the bustling activity in the town but then you can retreat to the beautiful solitude of the villa. The property, landscaping and buildings are gorgeous and represent an Italian villa from the past. The maid comes twice a week and the gardener seems to be there every day. There is enormous swimming pool for your own use surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The kitchen is well outfitted if you chose to cook for yourself. Not enough good can be said about Ginevra who lives in another building next to the villa. She is member of the family that owns the property. She is will essentially help you with anything you ask including taking you to various places until you become familiar with the surroundings. Ginevra provides information, guides and anything else that will make your stay enjoyable. When you arrive Ginevra has provided some basic foods as well as two bottles of wine and some extra virgin olive oil. One thing everyone should keep in mind about southern Italy, the driving is not for the faint of heart, especially at night.

A stunning villa in the hills above Tropea

We had the most wonderful 10 days at this idyllic and stunning villa in the hills above Tropea. From the huge, deep pool to the chic interiors, this villa was perfect in every way. Genevra our host was incredibly helpful, and was full of tips and helped us with reservations for dinners and organising a boat trip for us. One of our best holidays and one of the most beautiful settings, what a find! Highly recommended!

An exceptional experience

Our stay in Villa Bragho was simply magical. The beauty of the property is overwhelming beautiful. The property owner Ginevra was extraordinarily accommodating going well beyond expectations. The Villa is situated very close to town with a very easy walk. The property is perfectly situated offering a peaceful retreat but yet just minutes from all that Tropea offers. We will be returning God willing. We loved our wonderful stay!

Gorgeous Villa, charmingly furnished, fully equipped, amazing gardens which were tastefully designed and immaculately looked after on a daily basis, full of old pine and mature olive trees and numerous lemon trees, incredible swimming pool, lots of green and flowers and a panoramic view of the sea. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Our host Ginevra who stayed next door in a separate house gave us a warm welcome, and looked after us at all times. She kindly took the time to take us to the local market to buy fresh fish and fruits, and was a source of valuable information about where to visit, dine or shop etc. she was available and approachable if we needed anything. Minor issue, Wi-Fi coverage inside and around villa was poor( although there was a little desk with good working wi-fi). For us it was no big deal as we had European coverage with our mobile network company. Overall highly recommend it

An amazing time

Ginevra was a fantastic host. Our flight from Rome to Lamezia Terme was canceled so we drove from Siena to Tropea. Ginevra saw how tired we were when we got there so she made a reservation for us for dinner, drove us there and then picked us up afterwards. This was typical of her help during our stay. The place and pool were great and the ease of getting in to Tropea was great. When we go back we for sure will try and book there again.

fantastic stay in Calabria

I cannot begin to praise our stay at Villa Bragho. Everything was magical. It's a beautiful property situated at the edge of town. It has great inside and outside space with an enormous crystal clear swimming pool. The hospitality from the property manager and the owners was really great. The property manager Marianna met us at the airport and booked trips for us after finding out what we would like, The owners provided everything we needed when we arrived (milk, cleaning products, pasta, olive oil). Our experience is that this is unusual and a trip to the supermarket is essential when you arrive at a rental! Not here, though. The hospitality was just amazing. The manager and owners booked restaurants for us and even cooked for us one evening! The location was second to none. Edge of town but with a huge well-maintained garden and enormous swimming pool. Don't look elsewhere - you won't find anything better. Honestly.
