I like the history of the building. I like the facilities but since the change of management, it has become more complicated to use the spa area for us who are guests of the hotel. It's not so easily accessible as before. And there are less sauna cabins (only 1 left). As for the rooms, this was our 4th time staying at the hotel and I find that the last room they booked us in was smaller than the ones we had before. The bathroom was really small and the door of the bathroom is awkwardly placed. It opens onto a column and there is very little space to maneuver around. We stayed in room 311 and were 4 adults. It was quite small especially the bathroom. Some staff were talking loudly outside in the corridor in the morning. I could hear them down the hallway.

The hotel is located on a beautifully landscaped property along a tributary of the St. Lawrence River. Access to Nicolet and Trois Rivieres is easy and direct. Local restaurants are limited.

On est tombé sous le charme!
Superbe acceuil, l'hôtel est majestueux dans un lieu remplie d'histoires. Le spa sur le toît très agréable. On peut y mettre une bûche au feu en soirée. Le personnel est très courtois et les tarifs sont raisonnables. À distance de marche du centre-ville et situé sur la rue Saint-Jean-baptiste qui longe la rivière Nicolet bordée de berges aménagées.

Nice place and accommodations but was refused a table for dinner because there was an event going on. This was very disappointing. I came in a little late and the last thing I wanted to do was to start looking around in a town I know very little about with not very many restaurants to choose from. If I am paying well over $200.00 for a room, I expect to have a dinner table available for me at dinner time. This alone was a very major annoyance.

The hotel is wonderful but the tub would not drain properly while taking a shower and would accumulate in the tub which is disgusting.

Didn’t know that the spa was extra this year. I was a little desapointed. But overall, the terrace, the restaurant, everything is splendid. A very a nice place to take a break and relax.

Checked in and went to our room only to find out the air conditioning in that building was not working. Went back to the desk to see what was wrong, was told we were supposed to have gotten a call about it, was offered a $50 credit at the restaurant which we weren't going to use and was told they were sold out and that it was supposed to be cool that night anyways. No apology. It didnt get under 25 degrees in our room at night which made for a sleepless night for our 1 year old. Was moved to a smaller room with a/c the next two nights, but still no apology. We have been going there for years and have noticed a slow decline it customer service and the rooms themselves. Will not be going back because of the way they handled the situation.

AC was broken. They offered either to cancel or 25% off. We took the 25 %. The little fridge inside was also broken, our food got frozen so we lost our sandwiches, veggies and cheeses.

Everything is beautiful and elegant. The swimming pool looks good but small and I love the rooftop jacuzzi for it has an amazing view! What I don’t like is that the ac in my room is not that cold but the staff are kind enough to bring us 2 electric fan to cool us off. The food in Tomahawk grill is so delicious plus you can drink as much wine as you want and you don’t have to worry about driving because it’s just walking distance to your room

This property is trying to be something it is not. An example: a decent (but small) pool and hot tub area but you have to walk through a maze of back-of-house (laundry, janitorial ) hallways to get to it. There was a nice rooftop hot tub and seating but the seating was very cheap and the hot tub was dirty, and there was no staff anywhere (no music or lighting for example). The one window in the room was acually a sliding patio door with parking 6ft away from it so the drapes needed to be pulled at all times for privacy, making the room dark and depressing. And the room wasn't clean. There's a bar in the lobby, but again, no one there, no music or staff, just very empty table and chairs. The grounds are nice, and there is a separate spa building which I didn't go into, but overall, just very underwhelming

Very nice, relaxing stay
This was probably one of the nicest stays ive had. The hotel has a cool/relaxing ambience about it. From swimming inside the indoor pool, to walking the grounds at the side of the hotel. Ive never taken a picture of a hotel ive stayed at before this, but it was too nice to pass on.

Great hotel. Welll kept, nice rooms, Beautiful grounds, spa, pool, hot tubs (especially on the roof) free biking, canoeing/kayak/etc. Only negatives were the extremely loud air conditioning in the room and the restaurant menu which lacked many vegetarian choices (for us) and quite pricy. Not much choice of restaurants in the area… Otherwise highly recommended hotel.
