It is nestled on 33 acres of private land with 650 feet of frontage along the Boardman River. The original log home structure was built in 1929 and in later years added on to including a kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, walk-in closet, utility room, and a riverside main bedroom. Shadowland River Lodge currently sleeps up to 6 guests with a queen bed in the one “ conventional “ bedroom with direct river views. (red bedspread) A set of “twin” size bunk beds are in the main room (red checkered) of the cabin structure along with a “double” size futon. (Cream w/ multi-color stripes) The property has become a retreat for those looking to be a little off the beaten path of the busy hustle and bustle of Traverse City. Step back in time and enjoy the privacy and sense of nature that envelops this log home along the Boardman River. Also enjoy endless amounts of free firewood for use inside and out! We are dog friendly - this means all dogs! (Sorry, we only allow dogs, no cats, etc.) There is no size limit. We love to have guests experience Shadowland River Lodge with their K9 family members! Just returned from my 5th year in a row at Shadowland River Lodge and as usual, it was the perfect experience! Jason and Nicole are the absolute best hosts, and this year, the new hot tub just added to the total relaxation and zen of the property. We ventured out this year to do wine tastings on both peninsulas as well as one of the local cruises on the water to enjoy the beautiful October scenery. The best part of venturing out during the day is returning to the house in the evening for the hot tub, fire pit and cozy fireplace in the living room. My dogs seem to sense when we are close by on the drive in every year and start howling in the car with delight. The feeling of peace and relaxation keep me coming back every year! Thank you again Jason & Nicole for your warm hospitality. Check-in was easy, Jason met us at the house, which was a nice and unique touch. The house is in a beautiful setting, very clean and Jason had everything ready for us. He truly made it feel as if it was our home for the weekend. It was a Mother’s Day getaway and we just lounge around the fire pit listening to the sounds of the babbling river and the crackling fire. We had an amazing stay at Shadowland River Lodge! The cabin was immaculate and well stocked. There wasn't anything that the host didn't think of, anything you could possibly need for your stay was there. The dogs loved playing in the river! Once we explored the cabin and property, everyone agreed that this place was the best placed we ever stayed. Starting with meeting the hosts (Jason and Nicole) for a quick rundown of the property, btw the nicest hosts and very responsive if you have any questions, they showed us around and even set up the fire pit and fireplace all we had to do was light it up and enjoy. Not to outshine the hosts but the property is the real star. From the views, the fire pit/place, the river, the cozy feel and decorations everything is fantastic. This place has everything from interesting books, board games, blue tooth speaker, a hot tub!!!Jason and Nicole make the check out process incredible easy and stress free. I know this place will be talked about between us for a long time and we all agreed that we will be coming back to the property. ##### Aaron D. The lodge is nestled in a serene setting, offering a peaceful retreat with easy access to the city's attractions. We enjoyed fishing and, since we pulled our boat, the property’s circle drive made it convenient. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and Jason and Nicole were friendly and helpful. Jason and Nicole are always gracious hosts, and the property is perfect. The cabin is secluded in the wood, but only 20 to 25 minutes from downtown Traverse City.
