And this seems to be the general theme of Japanese hospitality. But this hotel seems to take the opposite approach. The room was literally as small as it could possibly be and still contain a bed. I have enough experience with Japanese hotels to expect tight quarters relative to Texas, but this was really one step above a capsule hotel. They are aware of it too, because they make a point of explaining that their small rooms are for the Earth. Maybe. But the pitiful breakfast wasn't for the Earth. The whole thing was cut-rate, but to give a concrete example: the ONLY fruit on offer was canned fruit cocktail. About the only thing worth applause at this hotel is the almost immediate proximity to the station. I love Japan and almost never find anything to complain about, but this is pretty bad.
