Good option in horseshoe bay
Communication and location both great, as were the Sails facilities. Our only concern was the size and layout of some aspects of the two bedroom villa / eg the powder room. Very small. And not being able to use the spa jets in the bathroom, but that’s likely a short term issue. Very good location and a nice pool.

The property is located directly over the road from the beach, so the location is awesome! The Managers are friendly and there are many dining options nearby. The unit that we stayed in was quite dated and some things in the unit were not working as they should (eg. lights, hotplate). I felt that the unit was very overpriced!

Great place to stay.
Beautiful weather, great beach right out the front. Everything is within a very short distance flat walking. Fantastic walking tracks available for the more energetic. A bus serveice that is cheap operates throughout the island. New owners in the business are enthusiastic to do well. Highly recommend this place.

We wish we could live there.
Absolutely loved the location. Couldn't have been better. Directly across from the beach and a short stroll to all the shops and eateries. Wonderful sunsets every night. What else could you want for?

Excellent location
Perfectly placed. Close to all amenities, waterfront and water activities. Good eating places to choose from. We would and will come back and stay at Sails On Horseshoe. One downside was the inconsistency of the wi fi. Observed quite a number of people frustrated with it dropping in and out. Not the end of the world but.

Wonderful stay with beautiful views of the sunsets
Wonderful stay at Horseshoe Bay, great spot for seeing the sunset. Bit dated, we had a beachfront apartment which provided a wonderful view of Horseshoe Bay. Very scenic and very peaceful. Most apartments are two story with bedrooms downstairs with living areas upstairs. Lovely place, weather fantastic, very much love to come back again.

Pleasant Stay
Pleasant place to stay but lacked a sea view. Staff were accommodating and service was good. We had issues checking in due to Covid cleaning requirements but this was outside of the the establishments control and the owners were very good in compensating us for this inconvenience.

Fabulous location, will definitely be back!
Had an awesome 5 night stay here in a 2 br garden terrace unit. Loved that it was at the quieter end of Horseshoe Bay and right across from the beach. No driving required. Whilst it is obvious the resort is older the 2 level unit was very spacious and loved having a 2nd toilet upstairs. It had all we needed to be fully self contained and we ate every meal except 1 at the unit sitting on the balcony which had a view of the water. We arrived 2 hrs before checkin and Kathy was lovely enough to let us check in earlier and let us know they have beach chairs, towels and small eskys all for guests use which is fabulous. Apart from that we had no interaction until checkout. It was a quieter time of year on the whole island which we found lovely and even though apparently the resort was fully booked over the weekend we barely saw anyone. The pool was also great to use when we didnt feel like the beach. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely return.

The location of Sails on Horseshoe is perfect. It is just across the road from the beach and 2 minutes from the local shops. We have stayed here before and would came here again.

Loved the upstairs lounge/balcony with water views. Great location opposite beach and close to shops and restaurants, yet quiet and peaceful. Hosts very nice and helpful. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Magnetic Island!

Excellent location, right on the beach but far enough away from the restaurants/shops for noise not to be an issue. Spacious 2 bedroom apartment, decor a bit dated but everything we needed was there. Had to rely on WiFi as no Vodafone reception on that side of the island. Managers Phil and Cathy were very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there....perhaps cos we didn't take the kids with us!!

Excellent position - quiet and across the road from beach. Helpful management. They say they have free wifi - we could barely use it only connected one in ten tries and this part of the island only could get 3G which didn't allow much access at all!

Abused and accused by Reception Staff!
I had booked accommodation for my family for the long weekend. Was raining on Friday so we all look shelter Kathy and Phil questioned me and another guest consistelny of who and how many people were staying. The next day I came back to VISIT my family as I was staying at another accommodation. Kathy yelled out counting the amount of people. I asked her what is the problem. She then got abusive started yelling at me! Told me she was going to call the police that I had stolen a wine glass! NO Glass was stolen! She become so aggressive her Husband Phil had to stand in front of her. I have never felt so fearful of my safety! I have never in my life been abused and spoken to so poorly by any form of management. I have found other reviews with similar problems with aggressive and professional behaviour from Kathy.

It is unusual to get a review from someone who was not a paying guest. The unit was booked for 2 adults and 4 children but when I showed you to the unit on Australia Day, 10 people entered with suitcases. Certainly I questioned it as we are not allowed to have more than 6 guests in the unit because of fire regulations. You told me that four were just visiting (implying that you were staying here) yet two other adults arrived at 10.30am on the Saturday and went into the unit. Yes, we were concerned about the number of people staying in the unit and that is why Kathy was counting the number of adults on the beach using our wine glasses whilst we were getting complaints from other guests about the noise being made by the four young children left in the unit by themselves. You came over from the beach in a very aggressive state and I had to step in between the two of you as you towered over Kathy and she was concerned for her safety. After your friends had left the unit and we inspected inside, it was obvious that more than 6 were staying there as all our spare blankets and pillows had been taken upstairs to the living room and the cleaning staff had to take away three large black bagsful of bottles and rubbish from just two adults and their children for a two night stay.+

Lovely weekend location. The rooms and facilities were excellent. The staff would provide everything you could think of to make your stay more comfortable. A great location for large group gatherings with the bbq area equipped for cooking and socializing with kids enjoying themselves in the pool.

Great hotel close to beach
Was amazed at the amount of space this place had. Most hotels are a little cramped. Had 2 storeys with bedrooms down the bottom and kitchen, laundry and lounge up the top with a nice deck. Lovely staff. Great pool and facilities. Will definitely come back

Great view and room in perfect location
We had Room 1 and the upstairs deck gave us a perfect view. All facilities are excellent and the staff are very helpful.

Fabulous location close to shops and restaurant strip, right on the beach. Chairs made available to take across and sit and watch the world go by under the shade of trees. Common areas pool and outdoor eating area great for chilling out, gatherings and shared conversations.

Spruced up motel with a few permenant residents. Management couple friendly and wealth of knowledge. Pool area great, it was clean and shaded. Room itself comfortable but didn't quite live up to our expectations or price.

Our stay was memorable. Relaxing on our balcony or walking one of the many walks available and seeing the rest of the island. Sails on Horseshoe Bay is run by friendly and accommodating people, who go over and above in the customer service area. Thank you Kathy and Phil.
