It was VERY cold in the cabin when we arrived -- uncomfortably cold -- and it took several hours for the cabin to warm up to a comfortable temperature. But overall a wonderful place to stay! The location was so convenient to everything yet felt like we were deep in the woods. We even saw a large bear walk by soon after we arrived! Such a treat! The kitchen was well equipped for cooking dinner, brunch, and snacks, and we enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch as we dined and visited with each other. The host had left very detailed instructions about everything, so check in/out, WiFi connections, TVs, etc, was very simple. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. We brought firewood for the firepit and bathing suits for the hot tub, but the cabin was so cozy, we never even ventured out. We had planned to go out for dinner one night, but we were having so much fun there, we decided to just stay in. I highly recommend this peaceful side of the Smokies—and specifically the Blue Door Cabin—for your next family or friend vacation. I hope to be back very soon. ##### gina j. They were perfect for our large family with 5 kids under 4! The porch on the Blue Door Cabin is the star of the show with lots of seating areas and a large screened in porch. Everything was well kept and clean, property was easy to get to in Townsend right off of the main parkway through town, but still felt private. Tons of comfy seating outside with a screened in porch. It rained while we were there and there was nothing better than lounging outside on the screen porch listening to the rain. While we really enjoyed the outside space the indoor space was clean and more than comfortable. Really quiet, really peaceful. The small city of Townsend is quaint and perfect if you want to stay in the Smokeys but away from the commercialized area of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Would stay here again. ##### Loree C.
